Καὶ ἦν ἐκεῖ Μωυσῆς ἐναντίον κυρίου τεσσεράκοντα ἡμέρας καὶ τεσσεράκοντα νύ· κτὰς· ἄρτον οὐκ ἔφαγεν καὶ ὕδωρ οὐκ ἔπιεν· καὶ ἔγραψεν τὰ ῥήματα ταῦτα ἐπὶ τῶν πλακῶν τῆς διαθήκης, τοὺς δέκα λόγους.
So Moses was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights without eating bread or drinking water. He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant—the Ten Commandments (note: Hebrew the Ten Words).
