ἐπεὶ δὲ οὐκ ἠδύναντο αὐτὸ ἔτι κρύπτειν ἔλαβεν αὐτῷ ἡ μήτηρ αὐτοῦ θῖβιν καὶ κατέχρισεν αὐτὴν ἀσφαλτοπίσσῃ καὶ ἐνέβαλεν τὸ παιδίον εἰς αὐτὴν καὶ ἔθηκεν αὐτὴν εἰς τὸ ἕλος παρὰ τὸν ποταμόν
But when she could no longer hide him, she got him a papyrus basket (note: The Hebrew can also mean ark; also in verse 5; see Genesis 6:14.) and coated it with tar and pitch. Then she placed the child in the basket and set it among the reeds along the bank of the Nile.
