And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses (note: Heb. Mosheh.), and said: ‘Because I drew (note: Heb. mashah, to draw out.) him out of the water.’
When the child had grown older, she brought him to Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. She named him Moses (note: Moses sounds like a Hebrew term that means to lift out.) and explained, “I drew him out of the water.”
