Wenn nun über dich kommt dies alles, es sei der Segen oder der Fluch, die ich dir vorgelegt habe, und du in dein Herz gehst, wo du unter den Heiden bist, dahin dich der HErr, dein Gott, verstoßen hat,
“When all these things come upon you—the blessings and curses I have set before you—and you call them to mind in all the nations to which the LORD your God has banished you,
und bekehrst dich zu dem HErrn, deinem Gott, dass du seiner Stimme gehorchest, du und deine Kinder, von ganzem Herzen und von ganzer Seele, in allem, was ich dir heute gebiete,
and when you and your children return to the LORD your God and obey His voice with all your heart and all your soul according to everything I am giving you today,
so wird der HErr, dein Gott, dein Gefängnis wenden und sich deiner erbarmen und wird dich wieder versammeln aus allen Völkern, dahin dich der HErr, dein Gott, verstreut hat.
then He will restore you from captivity (note: Or restore your fortunes) and have compassion on you and gather you from all the nations to which the LORD your God has scattered you.
Wenn du bis an der Himmel Ende verstoßen wärest, so wird dich doch der HErr, dein Gott, von dort sammeln und dich von dort holen
Even if you have been banished to the farthest horizon (note: Or to the extremity of the heavens), He will gather you and return you from there (note: Cited in Nehemiah 1:8–9).
und wird dich in das Land bringen, das deine Väter besessen haben, und wirst es einnehmen, und er wird dir Gutes tun und dich mehren über deine Väter.
And the LORD your God will bring you into the land your fathers possessed, and you will take possession of it. He will cause you to prosper and multiply more than your fathers.
Und der HErr, dein Gott, wird dein Herz beschneiden und das Herz deiner Nachkommen, dass du den HErrn, deinen Gott, liebst von ganzem Herzen und von ganzer Seele, auf dass du leben mögest.
The LORD your God will circumcise your hearts and the hearts of your descendants, and you will love Him with all your heart and with all your soul, so that you may live.
Aber diese Flüche wird der HErr, dein Gott, alle auf deine Feinde legen und auf die, so dich hassen und verfolgen;
Then the LORD your God will put all these curses upon your enemies who hate you and persecute you.
du aber wirst dich bekehren und der Stimme des HErrn gehorchen, dass du tust alle seine Gebote, die ich dir heute gebiete.
And you will again obey the voice of the LORD and follow all His commandments I am giving you today.
Und der HErr, dein Gott, wird dir Glück geben in allen Werken deiner Hände, an der Frucht deines Leibes, an der Frucht deines Viehs, an der Frucht deines Landes, dass dir's zugut komme. Denn der HErr wird sich wenden, dass er sich über dich freue, dir zugut, wie er sich über deine Väter gefreut hat,
So the LORD your God will make you abound in all the work of your hands and in the fruit of your womb, the offspring of your livestock, and the produce of your land. Indeed, the LORD will again delight in your prosperity, as He delighted in that of your fathers,
darum dass du der Stimme des HErrn, deines Gottes, gehorchest, zu halten seine Gebote und Rechte, die geschrieben stehen im Buch dieses Gesetzes, so du dich wirst bekehren zu dem HErrn, deinem Gott, von ganzem Herzen und von ganzer Seele.
if you obey the LORD your God by keeping His commandments and statutes that are written in this Book of the Law, and if you turn to Him with all your heart and with all your soul.
Denn das Gebot, das ich dir heute gebiete, ist dir nicht verborgen noch zu ferne
For this commandment I give you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach.
noch im Himmel, dass du möchtest sagen: Wer will uns in den Himmel fahren und es uns holen, dass wir's hören und tun?
It is not in heaven (note: Cited in Romans 10:6), that you should need to ask, ‘Who will ascend into heaven to get it for us and proclaim it, that we may obey it?’
Es ist auch nicht jenseit des Meers, dass du möchtest sagen: Wer will uns über das Meer fahren und es uns holen, dass wir's hören und tun?
And it is not beyond the sea (note: See Romans 10:7.), that you should need to ask, ‘Who will cross the sea to get it for us and proclaim it, that we may obey it?’
Denn es ist das Wort gar nahe bei dir, in deinem Munde und in deinem Herzen, dass du es tust.
But the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart (note: Cited in Romans 10:8), so that you may obey it.
Siehe ich habe dir heute vorgelegt das Leben und das Gute, den Tod und das Böse,
See, I have set before you today life and prosperity, as well as death and disaster.
der ich dir heute gebiete, dass du den HErrn, deinen Gott, liebst und wandelst in seinen Wegen und seine Gebote, Gesetze und Rechte haltest und leben mögest und gemehrt werdest und dich der HErr, dein Gott, segne in dem Lande, in das du einziehst, es einzunehmen.
For I am commanding you today to love the LORD your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, statutes, and ordinances, so that you may live and increase, and the LORD your God may bless you in the land that you are entering to possess.
Wendest du aber dein Herz und gehorchst nicht, sondern lässt dich verführen, dass du andere Götter anbetest und ihnen dienest,
But if your heart turns away and you do not listen, but are drawn away to bow down to other gods and worship them,
so verkündige ich euch heute, dass ihr umkommen und nicht lange in dem Lande bleiben werdet, dahin du einziehst über den Jordan, es einzunehmen.
I declare to you today that you will surely perish; you shall not prolong your days in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess.
Ich nehme Himmel und Erde heute über euch zu Zeugen: ich habe euch Leben und Tod, Segen und Fluch vorgelegt, dass du das Leben erwählest und du und dein Same leben mögt,
I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you today that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing. Therefore choose life, so that you and your descendants may live,
dass ihr den HErrn, euren Gott, liebet und seiner Stimme gehorchet und ihm anhanget. Denn das ist dein Leben und dein langes Alter, dass du in dem Lande wohnst, das der HErr deinen Vätern Abraham, Isaak und Jakob geschworen hat ihnen zu geben.
and that you may love the LORD your God, obey Him, and hold fast to Him. For He is your life, and He will prolong your life in the land that the LORD swore to give to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”
