If your very own brother, or your son or daughter, or the wife you embrace (note: Hebrew the wife of your bosom), or your closest friend secretly entices you, saying, “Let us go and worship other gods” (which neither you nor your fathers have known,
כִּ֣י יְסִֽיתְךָ֡ אָחִ֣יךָ בֶן־ אִ֠מֶּךָ אֽוֹ־ בִנְךָ֨ אֽוֹ־ בִתְּךָ֜ א֣וֹ׀ אֵ֣שֶׁת חֵיקֶ֗ךָ א֧וֹ רֵֽעֲךָ֛ אֲשֶׁ֥ר כְּנַפְשְׁךָ֖ בַּסֵּ֣תֶר לֵאמֹ֑ר נֵֽלְכָ֗ה וְנַֽעַבְדָה֙ אֱלֹהִ֣ים אֲחֵרִ֔ים אֲשֶׁר֙ לֹ֣א יָדַ֔עְתָּ אַתָּ֖ה וַאֲבֹתֶֽיךָ׃
