And Baltasar drinking gave orders as he tasted the wine that they should bring the gold and silver vessels, which Nabuchodonosor his father had brought forth from the temple in Jerusalem; that the king, and his nobles, and his mistresses, and his concubines, should drink out of them.
Under the influence of the wine, Belshazzar gave orders to bring in the gold and silver vessels that Nebuchadnezzar his father (note: Or predecessor or grandfather; also in verses 11, 13, and 18) had taken from the temple in Jerusalem, so that the king could drink from them, along with his nobles, his wives, and his concubines.
