Daniel résolut en son cœur de ne pas se souiller par les mets du roi et par le vin dont il buvait, et il demanda au chef des eunuques de ne pas l'obliger à se souiller.
But Daniel made up his mind that he would not defile himself with the king’s food or wine. So he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself.
