Then the king ordered Ashpenaz, the chief of his court officials, to bring in some Israelites from the royal and the nobility—

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ לְאַשְׁפְּנַ֖ז רַ֣ב סָרִיסָ֑יו לְהָבִ֞יא מִבְּנֵ֧י יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל וּמִזֶּ֥רַע הַמְּלוּכָ֖ה וּמִן־ הַֽפַּרְתְּמִֽים׃
