Ὡς δὲ ἤκουσαν τοὺς λόγους τούτους ὅ τε στρατηγὸς τοῦ ἱεροῦ καὶ οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς διηπόρουν περὶ αὐτῶν τί ἂν γένοιτο τοῦτο
When the captain of the temple guard and the chief priests heard this account, they were perplexed as to what was happening (note: Literally as to what this might be).
