Καὶ βολίσαντες, εὗρον ὀργυιὰς εἴκοσι, βραχὺ δὲ διαστήσαντες, καὶ πάλιν βολίσαντες, εὗρον ὀργυιὰς δεκαπέντε.
They took soundings and found that the water was twenty fathoms (note: 15 fathoms is approximately 90 feet or 27.4 meters.) deep. Going a little farther, they took another set of soundings that read fifteen fathoms.
