ὡς δὲ ἐπλήρου Ἰωάννης τὸν δρόμον ἔλεγεν Τί ἐμὲ ὑπονοεῖτε εἶναι οὐκ εἰμὶ ἐγώ ἀλλ’ ἰδοὺ ἔρχεται μετ’ ἐμὲ οὗ οὐκ εἰμὶ ἄξιος τὸ ὑπόδημα τῶν ποδῶν λῦσαι
As John was completing his course, he said, ‘Who do you suppose I am? I am not that One. But there is One coming after me whose sandals I am not worthy to untie (note: Luke 3:16; see also Matthew 3:11, Mark 1:7, and John 1:27.).’
