Some time later, David defeated the Philistines, subdued them, and took Metheg-ammah (note: Metheg-ammah means bridle of the mother city.) from the hand of the Philistines.
וַֽיְהִי֙ אַֽחֲרֵי־ כֵ֔ן וַיַּ֥ךְ דָּוִ֛ד אֶת־ פְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים וַיַּכְנִיעֵ֑ם וַיִּקַּ֥ח דָּוִ֛ד אֶת־ מֶ֥תֶג הָאַמָּ֖ה מִיַּ֥ד פְּלִשְׁתִּֽים׃
