Arripiensque filium suum primogenitum, qui regnaturus erat pro eo, obtulit holocaustum super murum : et facta est indignatio magna in Israël, statimque recesserunt ab eo, et reversi sunt in terram suam.
So he took his firstborn son, who was to succeed him, and offered him as a burnt offering on the city wall. And there was great fury against the Israelites (note: Or And Israel’s fury was great), so they withdrew and returned to their own land.
