Before Isaiah had left the middle courtyard (note: LXX and an alternate MT reading; the other alternate reads the middle of the city), the word of the LORD came to him, saying,
וַיְהִ֣י יְשַׁעְיָ֔הוּ לֹ֣א יָצָ֔א הָעִיר הַתִּֽיכֹנָ֑ה וּדְבַר־ יְהוָ֔ה הָיָ֥ה אֵלָ֖יו לֵאמֹֽר׃
