καὶ εἰσήνεγκεν Σαλωμὼν τὰ ἅγια Δαυεὶδ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ, τὸ ἀργύριον καὶ τὸ χρυσίον καὶ τὰ σκεύη· ἔδωκεν εἰς θησαυρὸν Κυρίου.
So all the work that Solomon had performed for the house of the LORD was completed. Then Solomon brought in the items his father David had dedicated—the silver, the gold, and all the furnishings—and he placed them in the treasuries of the house of God.
Τóτε ἐξεκλησίασεν Σαλωμὼν τοὺς πρεσβυτέρους καὶ πάντας τοὺς ἄρχοντας τῶν φυλῶν τοὺς ἡγουμένους πατριῶν υἱῶν Ἰσραὴλ εἰς Ἰερουσαλήμ, τοῦ ἀνενέγκαι κβωτὸν διαθήκης Κυρίου ἐκ πόλεως Δαυείδ, αὕτη Σειών.
At that time Solomon assembled in Jerusalem the elders of Israel—all the tribal heads and family leaders of the Israelites—to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD from Zion, the City of David.
καὶ ἐξεκλησιάσθησαν πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα πᾶς Ἰσραὴλ ἐν τῇ ἑορτῇ, οὗτος ὁ μὴν ἔβδδομος.
So all the men of Israel came together to the king at the feast in the seventh month (note: That is, the Feast of Tabernacles (or Booths or Shelters); see Leviticus 23:33–36.).
καὶ ἦλθον πάντες οἱ πρεσβύτεροι Ἰσραήλ, καὶ ἔλαβον πάντες οἱ Λευεῖται τὴν κιβωτὸν
When all the elders of Israel had arrived, the Levites took up the ark,
καὶ τὴν σκηνὴν τοῦ μαρτυρίου καὶ πάντα τὰ σκεύη τὰ ἅγια τὰ ἐυ τῇ σκηνῇ, καὶ ἀνήνεγκαν αὐτὴν οἱ ἱερεῖς καὶ οἱ Λευεῖται.
and they brought up the ark and the Tent of Meeting with all its sacred furnishings. The Levitical priests carried them up.
καὶ ὁ βασιλεὺς Σαλωμὼν καὶ πᾶσα συναγωγὴ Ἰσραὴλ καὶ οἱ φοβούμενοι καὶ οἱ ἐπισυνηγμένοι αὐτῶν ἔμπροσθεν τῆς κιβωτοῦ θύοντες μόσχους καὶ πρόβατα, οἴ οὐκ ἀριθμηθήσονται καὶ οΕ οὐ λογισθήσονται ἀπὸ τοῦ πλήθους.
There, before the ark, King Solomon and the whole congregation of Israel who had assembled with him sacrificed so many sheep and oxen that they could not be counted or numbered.
καὶ εἰσήνεγκαν οἱ ἱερεῖς τὴν κιβωτὸν διαθήκης Κυρίου εἰς τὸν τόπον αὐτῆς, εἰς τὸ δαβεὶρ τοῦ οἶκου, εἰς τὰ ἅγια τῶν ἁγίων ὑποκάτω τῶν πτερύγων τῶν χερουβείν.
Then the priests brought the ark of the covenant of the LORD to its place in the inner sanctuary of the temple, the Most Holy Place, beneath the wings of the cherubim.
καὶ ἦν τὰ χερουβεὶν διαπεπετακότα τὰς πτέρυγας αὐτῶυ ἐπὶ τὸν τόπον τῆς κιβωτοῦ, καὶ συνεκάλυπτεν τὰ χερουβεὶν τὴν κιβωτὸν καὶ ἐπὶ τοὺς ἀναφορεῖς αὐτῆς ἐπάνωθεν,
For the cherubim spread their wings over the place of the ark and overshadowed the ark and its poles.
καὶ ὑπερεῖχον οἱ ἀναφορεῖς, καὶ ἐβλέποντο αἱ κεφαλαὶ τῶν ἀναφορέων ἐκ τῶν ἁγίων εἰς πρόσωπον τοῦ δαβείρ, οὐκ ἐβλέποντο ἔξω· καὶ ἤσαν ἐκεῖ ἕως τῆς ἡμέρας ταύτης.
The poles of the ark extended far enough that their ends were visible from in front of the inner sanctuary (note: Some Hebrew manuscripts and LXX The poles extended far enough that their ends were visible from the Holy Place in front of the inner sanctuary; see 1 Kings 8:8.), but not from outside the Holy Place; and they are there to this day.
οὐκ ἣν ἐν τῇ κιβωτῷ πλὴν δύο πλάκες ἂς ἔθηκεν Μωυσῆς ἐν Κωρήβ, ἃ διέθετο Κύριος μετὰ τῶν υἱῶν Ἰσραὴλ ἐν τῷ ἐξελθεῖν αὐτοὺς ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου.
There was nothing in the ark except the two tablets that Moses had placed in it at Horeb (note: That is, Mount Sinai, or possibly a mountain in the range containing Mount Sinai), where the LORD had made a covenant with the Israelites after they had come out of Egypt.
καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ ἐξελθεῖν τοὺς ἱερεῖς ἐκ τῶν ἁγίων, ὅτι πάντες οἱ ἱερεῖς οἱ εὑρεθέντες ἡγιάσθησαν· οὐκ ἤσαν διατεταγμένοι κατʼ ἐφημερίαν.
Now all the priests who were present had consecrated themselves regardless of their divisions. And when the priests came out of the Holy Place,
καὶ οἱ Λευεῖται οἱ ψαλτῳδοὶ πάντες τοῖς υἱοῖς Ἀσάφ, τῷ Αἱμάν, τῷ Ἰδειθοὺμ καὶ τοῖς υἱοῖς αὐτοῦ καὶ τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς αὐτοῦ, τῶν ἐνδεδυμένων στολὰς βυσσίνας ἐν κυμβάλοις καὶ ἐν νάβλαις καὶ ἐν κινύραις, ἑστηκότες κατέναντι τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου, καὶ μετʼ αὐτῶν ἱερεῖς ἑκατὸν εἵκοσι σαλπίζοντες ταῖς σάλπιγξιν.
all the Levitical singers—Asaph, Heman, Jeduthun, and their sons and relatives—stood on the east side of the altar, dressed in fine linen and playing cymbals, harps, and lyres, accompanied by 120 priests sounding trumpets.
καὶ ἐγένετο μία φωνὴ ἐν τῷ σαλπίζειν καὶ ἐν τῷ ψαλτῳδεῖν καὶ ἐν τῷ ἀναφωνεῖν φωνῇ μιῷ τοῦ ἐξομολογεῖσθαι καὶ αἰνεῖν τῷ κυρίῳ· καὶ ὕψωσαν φωνὴν ἐν σάλπιγξιν καὶ ἐν κυμβάλοις καὶ ἐν ὀργάνοις τῶν ᾠδῶν καὶ ἔλεγον Ἐξομολογεῖσθε τῷ κυρίῳ, ὅτι ἀγαθόν· ὅτι εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα τὸ ἔλεος αὐτοῦ. καὶ ὁ οἶκος ἐνεπλήσθη νεφέλης δόξης Κυρίου·
The trumpeters and singers joined together to praise and thank the LORD with one voice. They lifted up their voices, accompanied by trumpets, cymbals, and musical instruments, in praise to the LORD: “For He is good; His loving devotion endures forever.” And the temple, the house of the LORD, was filled with a cloud
καὶ οὐκ ἡδύναντο οἱ ἱερεῖς τοῦ στῆναι λειτουργεῖν ἀπὸ προσώπου τῆς νεφέλης, ὅτι ἐνέπλησεν δόξα Κυρίου τὸν οἶκον τοῦ θεοῦ.
so that the priests could not stand there to minister because of the cloud. For the glory of the LORD filled the house of God.
