Ἐὰν ἐπέλθῃ ἐφʼ ἡμᾶς κακά, όομφαία, κρίσις, θάνατος, λιμός, στησόμεθα ἐναντίον τοῦ οἴκου τοῦ καὶ ἐναντίον σου, ὅτι τὸ ὄνομά σου ἐπὶ τῷ οἴκῳ τούτῳ, καὶ βοησόμεθα πρὸς σέ ἀπὸ τῆς θλίψεως, καὶ ἀκούσῃ καὶ σώσεις.
‘If disaster comes upon us—whether sword or judgment (note: Or the sword of judgment), plague or famine—we will stand before this temple and before You, for Your Name is in this temple. We will cry out to You in our distress, and You will hear us and save us.’
