καὶ ἐλάλησεν πρὸς αὐτοὺς κατὰ τὴν βουλὴν τῶν νεωτέρων λέγων Ὁ πατήρ μου ἐβάρυνεν τὸν ζυγὸν ἡμῶν, καὶ ἐγὼ προσθήσω ἐπʼ αὐτόν· ὁ πατήρ μου ἐπαίδευσεν ὑμᾶς ἐν μάστιξιν, καὶ ἐγὼ παιδεύσω ὑμᾶς ἐν σκορπίοις.
and spoke to them as the young men had advised, saying, “Whereas my father made your yoke heavy (note: LXX and many Hebrew manuscripts (see also 1 Kings 12:14); MT Whereas I made your yoke heavy), I will add to your yoke. Whereas my father scourged you with whips, I will scourge you with scorpions.”
