And she named the child I–chabod, saying, The glory is departed (note: Or, there is no glory) from Israel: because the ark of God was taken, and because of her father in law and her husband.
And she named the boy Ichabod (note: Ichabod means no glory.), saying, “The glory has departed (note: Or gone into exile; also in verse 22) from Israel,” because the ark of God had been captured and her father-in-law and her husband had been killed.
