And she named the child Ichabod (note: That is, There is no glory.), saying: ‘The glory is departed from Israel’; because the ark of God was taken, and because of her father-in-law and her husband.
And she named the boy Ichabod (note: Ichabod means no glory.), saying, “The glory has departed (note: Or gone into exile; also in verse 22) from Israel,” because the ark of God had been captured and her father-in-law and her husband had been killed.
