וַיָּ֣קָם שָׁא֗וּל וַיֵּ֙רֶד֙ אֶל־ מִדְבַּר־ זִ֔יף וְאִתּ֛וֹ שְׁלֹֽשֶׁת־ אֲלָפִ֥ים אִ֖ישׁ בְּחוּרֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל לְבַקֵּ֥שׁ אֶת־ דָּוִ֖ד בְּמִדְבַּר־ זִֽיף׃
