Et profectus est David inde in Maspha, quæ est Moab : et dixit ad regem Moab : Maneat, oro, pater meus et mater mea vobiscum, donec sciam quid faciat mihi Deus.
From there David went to Mizpeh of Moab, where he said to the king of Moab, “Please let my father and mother stay (note: Syriac and Vulgate; Hebrew go forth) with you until I learn what God will do for me.”
