וְשָׁא֛וּל לָכַ֥ד הַמְּלוּכָ֖ה עַל־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיִּלָּ֣חֶם סָבִ֣יב׀ בְּֽכָל־ אֹיְבָ֡יו בְּמוֹאָ֣ב׀ וּבִבְנֵי־ עַמּ֨וֹן וּבֶאֱד֜וֹם וּבְמַלְכֵ֤י צוֹבָה֙ וּבַפְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים וּבְכֹ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־ יִפְנֶ֖ה יַרְשִֽׁיעַ׃
After Saul had assumed the kings (note: MT; DSS and LXX king)hip over Israel, he fought against all his enemies on every side—the Moabites, the Ammonites, the Edomites, the kings of Zobah, and the Philistines. Wherever he turned, he routed them (note: Or he inflicted punishment on them from Hebrew; LXX he was victorious).
