Und da die Tage um waren, ward Hanna schwanger und gebar einen Sohn und hieß ihn Samuel: „denn ich habe ihn von dem HErrn erbeten.”
So in the course of time, Hannah conceived and gave birth to a son. She named him Samuel (note: Samuel sounds like the Hebrew for heard of God.), saying, “Because I have asked for him from the LORD.”
