Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on (note: Or, to) the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
He Himself bore our sins (note: Isaiah 53:4 (see also LXX)) in His body on the tree, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. “By His stripes you are healed (note: Isaiah 53:5).”
