καὶ ἀνέβη εἰς Φααλφαθισείμ, καὶ ἐπάταξεν αὐτοὺς ἐκεῖ Δαυείδ· καὶ εἶπεν Δαυείδ Διέκοψεν τοὺς ἐχθρούς μου ἐν χειρί μου ὡς διακοπὴν ὔδατος· διὰ τοῦτο ἐκάλεσεν τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ τόπου ἐκείνου Διακοπὴ Φαρισἰν.
So David and his men went up to Baal-perazim (note: Baal-perazim means The Lord Bursts Out.), where he defeated the Philistines and said, “Like a bursting flood, God has burst out against my enemies by my hand.” So they called that place Baal-perazim.
