When Baal-hanan died, Hadad reigned in his place. His city was named Pau (note: Many MT manuscripts, some LXX manuscripts, Vulgate, and Syriac (see also Genesis 36:39); most MT manuscripts Pai), and his wife’s name was Mehetabel daughter of Matred, the daughter of Me-zahab.
וַיָּ֙מָת֙ בַּ֣עַל חָנָ֔ן וַיִּמְלֹ֤ךְ תַּחְתָּיו֙ הֲדַ֔ד וְשֵׁ֥ם עִיר֖וֹ פָּ֑עִי וְשֵׁ֨ם אִשְׁתּ֤וֹ מְהֵיטַבְאֵל֙ בַּת־ מַטְרֵ֔ד בַּ֖ת מֵ֥י זָהָֽב׃
