After him, Nathan rose up

As is the fat when it is separated from the peace offering,
—
He played with lions as with kids,
—
In his youth didn’t he kill a giant,
—
For he called upon the Most High Lord,
—
So they glorified him for his tens of thousands,
—
For he destroyed the enemies on every side,
—
In every work of his he gave thanks to the Holy One Most High with words of glory.
—
He set singers before the altar,
—
He gave beauty to the feasts,
—
The Lord took away his sins,
—
After him a wise son rose up,
—
Solomon reigned in days of peace.
—
How wise you were made in your youth,
—
Your influence covered the earth,
—
Your name reached to the far away islands,
—
For your songs, proverbs, parables,
—
By the name of the Lord God,
—
You bowed your loins to women,
—
You blemished your honour,
—
because the sovereignty was divided,
—
But the Lord will never forsake his mercy.
—
So Solomon rested with his fathers.
—
Their sins were multiplied exceedingly,
—
For they sought out all manner of wickedness,
—
