Ὁ θεὸς ἐκδικήσεων Κύριος, ὁ θεὸς ἐκδικήσεων ἐπαρρησιάσατο.
94:1
O LORD, God of vengeance, O God of vengeance, shine forth.
ὑψώθητι ὁ κρίνων τὴν γῆν, ἀπόδος ἀνταπόδοσιν τοῖς ὑπερηφάνοις.
94:2
Rise up, O Judge of the earth; render a reward to the proud.
ἕως πότε ἁμαρτωλοί, Κύριε, ἕως πότε ἁμαρτωλοὶ καυχήσοσται;
94:3
How long will the wicked, O LORD, how long will the wicked exult?
φθέγξονται καὶ λαλήσουσιν ἀδικίαν, λαλήσουσιν πάντες οἱ ἐργαζόμενοι τὴν ἀνομίαν ;
94:4
They pour out arrogant words; all workers of iniquity boast.
τὸν λαόν σου, Κύριε, ἐταπείνωσαν, καὶ τὴν κληροσομίαν σου ἐκάκωσαν·
94:5
They crush Your people, O LORD; they oppress Your heritage.
χήραν καὶ ὀρφανὸν ἀπέκτειναν, καὶ προσήλυτον ἐφόοευσαν·
94:6
They kill the widow and the foreigner; they murder the fatherless.
καὶ εἶπαν Οὐκ ὄψεται Κύριος, οὐδὲ συνήσει ὁ θεὸς τοῦ Ἰακώβ.
94:7
They say, “The LORD does not see; the God of Jacob pays no heed.”
σύνετε δή, ἄφρονες ἐν τῷ λαῷ· καὶ μωροί, ποτὲ φρονήσατε.
94:8
Take notice, O senseless among the people! O fools, when will you be wise?
ὁ φυτεύσας τὸ οὖς, οὐχὶ ἀκούει; ἢ ὁ πλάσας ὀφθαλμούς, οὐ κατανοεῖ
94:9
He who affixed the ear, can He not hear? He who formed the eye, can He not see?
ὁ παιδεύων ἔθνη, οὐχὶ ἐλέγξει, ὁ διδάσκων ἄνθρωπον γνῶσιν;
94:10
He who admonishes the nations, does He not discipline? He who teaches man, does He lack knowledge?
Κύριος γινώσκει τοὺς διαλογισμοὺς τῶν ἀνθρώπων, ὅτι εἰσὶν μάταιοι.
94:11
The LORD knows the thoughts of man, that they are futile (note: Cited in 1 Corinthians 3:20).
μακάριος ὁ ἄνθρωπος ὃν ἂν σὺ παιδεύσῃς, Κύριε. καὶ ἐκ τοῦ νόμου σου διδάξῃς αὐτόν,
94:12
Blessed is the man You discipline, O LORD, and teach from Your law,
τοῦ πραῦναι αὐτῷ ἀφʼ ἡμερῶν πονηρῶν. ἕως οὗ ὀρυγῇ τῷ ἁμαρτωλῷ βόθρος.
94:13
to grant him relief from days of trouble, until a pit is dug for the wicked.
τι οὐκ ἀπώσεται Κύριος τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ, καὶ τὴν κληρονομίαν αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἐγκαταλείψει,
94:14
For the LORD will not forsake His people; He will never abandon His heritage.
ἕως οὗ δικαιοσύνη ἐπιστρέψῃ εἰς κρίσιν, καὶ ἐχόμενοι αὐτῆς πάντες οἱ εὐθεῖς τῇ καρδίᾳ. διάψαλμα.
94:15
Surely judgment will again be righteous, and all the upright in heart will follow it.
τίς ἀναστήσεταί μοι ἐπὶ πονηρευομένους, ἢ τίς συνπαραστήσεταί μοι ἐπὶ ἐργαζομένους τὴν ἀνομίαν
94:16
Who will rise up for me against the wicked? Who will stand for me against the workers of iniquity?
εἰ μὴ ὅτι Κύριος ἐβοήθησέν μοι, παρὰ βραχὺ παρῴκησεν τῷ ᾄδῃ ἡ ψυχὴ μου.
94:17
Unless the LORD had been my helper, I would soon have dwelt in the abode of silence.
τ ἔλεγον Σεσάλευται ὁ πούς μου, τὸ ἔλεός σου, Κύριε, βοηθεῖ μοι.
94:18
If I say, “My foot is slipping,” Your loving devotion, O LORD, supports me.
Κύριε, κατὰ τὸ πλῆθος τῶν ὀδυνῶν μου ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ μου, αἱ παρακλήσεις σου ἠγάπησαν τὴν ψυχὴν μου.
94:19
When anxiety overwhelms me, Your consolation delights my soul.
μὴ συνπροσέσται σοι θρόνος ἀνομίας, ὁ πλάσσων κόπον ἐπὶ προστάγματι;
94:20
Can a corrupt throne be Your ally—one devising mischief by decree?
θηρεύσουσιν ἐπὶ ψυχὴν δικαίου, καὶ αἷμα ἀθῷον καταδικάσονται.
94:21
They band together against the righteous and condemn the innocent to death (note: Or condemn innocent blood).
καὶ ἐγένετό μοι Κύριος εἰς καταφυγήν, καὶ ὁ θεός μου εἰς βοηθὸν ἐλπίδος μου·
94:22
But the LORD has been my stronghold, and my God is my rock of refuge.
καὶ ἀποδώσει αὐτοῖς τὴν ἀνομίαν αὐτῶν καὶ τὴν πονηρίαν αὐτῶν· ἀφανιεῖ αὐτοὺς Κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν.
94:23
He will bring upon them their own iniquity and destroy them for their wickedness. The LORD our God will destroy them.
