The LORD loveth the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.
The LORD loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.
Glorious things are spoken of Thee, O city of God. Selah
Glorious things are ascribed to you, O city of God. Selah
'I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon as among them that know Me; behold Philistia, and Tyre, with Ethiopia; this one was born there.'
“I will mention Rahab (note: Rahab is a poetic name for Egypt.) and Babylon among those who know Me—along with Philistia, Tyre, and Cush (note: That is, the upper Nile region)—when I say, ‘This one was born in Zion.’”
But of Zion it shall be said: 'This man and that was born in her; And the Most High Himself doth establish her.'
And it will be said of Zion: “This one and that one were born in her, and the Most High Himself will establish her.”
The LORD shall count in the register of the peoples: 'This one was born there.' Selah
The LORD will record in the register of the peoples: “This one was born in Zion.” Selah
And whether they sing or dance, all my thoughts are in Thee.
Singers and pipers will proclaim, “All my springs of joy are in You.”
