For the choirmaster. According to Jeduthun. A Psalm of Asaph. I cried out to God; I cried aloud to God to hear me.
I will lift up my voice unto God, an cry; I will lift up my voice unto God, that He may give ear unto me.

In the day of my trouble I seek the Lord; With my hand uplifted, [mine eye] streameth in the night without ceasing; My soul refuseth to be comforted.
77:2
In the day of trouble I sought the Lord; through the night my outstretched hands did not grow weary; my soul refused to be comforted.
When I think thereon, O God, I must moan; When I muse thereon, my spirit fainteth. Selah .
77:3
I remembered You, O God, and I groaned; I mused and my spirit grew faint. Selah
Thou holdest fast the lids of mine eyes; I am troubled, and cannot speak.
77:4
You have kept my eyes from closing; I am too troubled to speak.
I have pondered the days of old, the years of ancient times.
77:5
I considered the days of old, the years long in the past.
In the night I will call to remembrance my song; I will commune with mine own heart; And my spirit maketh diligent search
77:6
At night I remembered my song; in my heart I mused, and my spirit pondered:
'Will the Lord cast off for ever? And will He be favourable no more?
77:7
“Will the Lord spurn us forever and never show His favor again?
Is His mercy clean gone for ever? Is His promise come to an end for evermore?
77:8
Is His loving devotion gone forever? Has His promise failed for all time?
Hath God forgotten to be gracious? Hath He in anger shut up his compassions?' Selah
77:9
Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has His anger shut off His compassion?” Selah
And I say 'This is my weakness, That the right hand of the Most High could change.
77:10
So I said, “I am grieved that the right hand of the Most High has changed.”
I will make mention of the deeds of the LORD; Yea, I will remember Thy wonders of old.
77:11
I will remember the works of the LORD; yes, I will remember Your wonders of old.
I will meditate also upon all Thy work, And muse on Thy doings.'
77:12
I will reflect on all You have done and ponder Your mighty deeds.
O God, Thy way is in holiness; Who is a great god like unto God?
77:13
Your way, O God, is holy. What god is so great as our God?
Thou art the God that doest wonders; Thou hast made known Thy strength among the peoples.
77:14
You are the God who works wonders; You display Your strength among the peoples.
Thou hast with Thine arm redeemed Thy people, The sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah
77:15
With power You redeemed Your people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah
The waters saw Thee, O God; The waters saw Thee, they were in pain; The depths also trembled.
77:16
The waters saw You, O God; the waters saw You and swirled; even the depths were shaken.
The clouds flooded forth waters; The skies sent out a sound; Thine arrows also went abroad.
77:17
The clouds poured down water; the skies resounded with thunder; Your arrows flashed back and forth.
The voice of Thy thunder was in the whirlwind; The lightnings lighted up the world; The earth trembled and shook.
77:18
Your thunder resounded in the whirlwind; the lightning lit up the world; the earth trembled and quaked.
Thy way was in the sea, And Thy path in the great waters, And Thy footsteps were not known.
77:19
Your path led through the sea, Your way through the mighty waters, but Your footprints were not to be found (note: Or were unknown).
Thou didst lead Thy people like a flock, By the hand of Moses and Aaron.
77:20
You led Your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
