Πρὸς σέ, Κύριε, ἦρα τὴν ψυχήν μου,
25:1
Of David (note: This psalm is an acrostic poem, each verse beginning with the successive letters of the Hebrew alphabet.). To You, O LORD, I lift up my soul;
ὁ θεός μου· ἐπὶ σοὶ πέποιθα· μὴ καταισχυνθείην, μηδέ καταγελασάτωσάν μου οἱ ἐχθροί μου.
25:2
in You, my God, I trust. Do not let me be put to shame; do not let my enemies exult over me.
καὶ γὰρ πάντες οἱ ὑπομένοντές σε οὐ μὴ καταισχυνθῶσιν· αἰσχυνθήτωσαν οἱ ἀνομοῦντες διὰ κενῆς.
25:3
Surely none who wait for You will be put to shame; but those who engage in treachery without cause will be disgraced.
πὰς ὁδούς σου, Κύριε, γνώρισόν μοι, καὶ τὰς τρίβους σου δίδαξόν με·
25:4
Show me Your ways, O LORD; teach me Your paths.
ὁδήγησόν με ἐπὶ τὴν ἀλήθειάν σου καὶ δίδαξόν με, ὅτι σὺ εἶ ὁ θεὸς ὁ σωτήρ μου. καὶ σὲ ὑπέμεινα ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν.
25:5
Guide me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; all day long I wait for You.
μνήσθητι τῶν οἰκτειρμῶν σου, καὶ τὰ ἐλέη σου, ὅτι ἀπὸ τοῦ αἰῶνος είσιν.
25:6
Remember, O LORD, Your compassion and loving devotion, for they are from age to age.
ἁμαρτίας νεότητός μου καὶ ἀγνοίας μὴ μνησθῇς· κατὰ τὸ ἔλεός σου μνήσθητί μου ἕνεκα τῆς χρηστότητός σου, Κύριε.
25:7
Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my rebellious acts; remember me according to Your loving devotion, because of Your goodness, O LORD.
χρηστὸς καὶ εὐθὴς ὁ κύριος· διὰ τοῦτο νομοθετήσει ἁμαρτάνοντας ἐν ὁδῷ.
25:8
Good and upright is the LORD; therefore He shows sinners the way.
ὁδηγήσει πρᾳεῖς ἐν κρίσει, διδάξει πρᾳεῖς ὁδοὺς αὐτοῦ.
25:9
He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them His way.
πᾶσαι αἱ ὁδοὶ Κυρίου ἔλεος καὶ ἀλήθεια τοῖς ἐκζητοῦσιν τὴν διαθήκην αὐτοῦ καὶ τὰ μαρτύρια αὐτοῦ.
25:10
All the LORD’s ways are loving and faithful to those who keep His covenant and His decrees.
ἔνεκα τοῦ ὀνόματός σου, Κύριε, καὶ ἱλάσῃ τῇ ἁμαρτίᾳ μου· πολλὴ γάρ ἐστιν.
25:11
For the sake of Your name, O LORD, forgive my iniquity, for it is great.
τίς ἐστιν ἄνθρωπος ὁ φοβούμενος τὸν κύριον; νομοθετήσει αὐτῷ ἐν ὁδῷ ᾗ ᾑρετίσατο·
25:12
Who is the man who fears the LORD? He will instruct him in the path chosen for him.
ἡ ψυχὴ αὐτοῦ ἐν ἀγαθοῖς αὐλισθήσεται, καὶ τὸ σπέρμα αὐτοῦ κληρονομήσει γῆν. κραταίωμα Κύριος τῶν φοβουμένων αὐτόν, καὶ τὸ ὄνομα Κυρίου τῶν φοβουμένων αὐτόν, καὶ ἡ διαθήκη αὐτοῦ τοῦ δηλῶσαι αὐτοῖς·
25:13
His soul will dwell in prosperity, and his descendants will inherit the land.
οἱ ὀφθαλμοί μου διὰ παντὸς πρὸς τὸν κύριον, ὅτι αὐτὸς ἐκσπάσει ἐκ παγίδος τοὺς πόδας μου.
25:15
My eyes are always on the LORD, for He will free my feet from the mesh.
ἐπίβλεψον ἐπʼ ἐμὲ καὶ ἐλέησόν με, ὅτι μονογενὴς καὶ πτωχός εἰμι ἐγώ.
25:16
Turn to me and be gracious, for I am lonely and afflicted.
αἱ θλίψεις τῆς καρδίας μου ἐπληθύνθησαν, ἐκ τῶν ἀναγκῶν μου ἐξάγαγέ με.
25:17
The troubles of my heart increase; free me from my distress.
ἴδε τὴν ταπείνωσίν μου καὶ τὸν κόπον μου, καὶ ἄφες πάσας τὰς ἁμαρτίας μου.
25:18
Consider my affliction and trouble, and take away all my sins.
ἴδε τοὺς ἐχθρούς μου, ὅτι ἐπληθύνθησαν, καὶ μῖσος ἄδικον ἐμίσησάν με.
25:19
Consider my enemies, for they are many, and they hate me with vicious hatred.
φύλαξον τὴν ψυχὴν μου καὶ ῥῦσαί με· μὴ καταισχυνθείην, ὅτι ἤλπισα ἐπὶ σέ.
25:20
Guard my soul and deliver me; let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in You.
ἄκακοι καὶ εὐθεῖς ἐκολλῶντό μοι, ὅτι ὑπέμεινά σε, Κύριε.
25:21
May integrity and uprightness preserve me, because I wait for You (note: Or because my hope is in You; LXX because I wait for You, O Lord).
λύτρωσαι, ὁ θεός, τὸν Ἰσραὴλ ἐκ πασῶν τῶν θλίψεων αὐτοῦ.
25:22
Redeem Israel, O God, from all its distress.
