Parallel

Psalms 16

Clementine Vulgate · Berean Standard Bible

Oratio David. Exaudi, Domine, justitiam meam ; intende deprecationem meam. Auribus percipe orationem meam, non in labiis dolosis.
A Miktam (note: Miktam is probably a musical or liturgical term; used for Psalm 16 and Psalms 56–60.) of David. Preserve me, O God, for in You I take refuge.
De vultu tuo judicium meum prodeat ; oculi tui videant æquitates.
I said to the LORD, “You are my Lord; apart from You I have no good thing.”
Probasti cor meum, et visitasti nocte ; igne me examinasti, et non est inventa in me iniquitas.
As for the saints in the land, they are the excellence in whom all my delight resides.
Ut non loquatur os meum opera hominum : propter verba labiorum tuorum, ego custodivi vias duras.
Sorrows will multiply to those who chase other gods. I will not pour out their libations of blood, or speak their names with my lips.
Perfice gressus meos in semitis tuis, ut non moveantur vestigia mea.
The LORD is my chosen portion and my cup; You have made my lot secure.
Ego clamavi, quoniam exaudisti me, Deus ; inclina aurem tuam mihi, et exaudi verba mea.
The lines of my boundary have fallen in pleasant places; surely my inheritance is delightful.
Mirifica misericordias tuas, qui salvos facis sperantes in te.
I will bless the LORD who counsels me; even at night my conscience instructs me (note: Or my heart instructs me; Hebrew my kidneys instruct me).
A resistentibus dexteræ tuæ custodi me ut pupillam oculi. Sub umbra alarum tuarum protege me
I have set (note: LXX I foresaw) the LORD always before me. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
a facie impiorum qui me afflixerunt. Inimici mei animam meam circumdederunt ;
Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will dwell securely (note: LXX will dwell in hope).
adipem suum concluserunt : os eorum locutum est superbiam.
For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol, nor will You let Your Holy One see decay (note: Cited in Acts 13:35).
Projicientes me nunc circumdederunt me ; oculos suos statuerunt declinare in terram.
You have made known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand.
