Parallel

Psalms 15

Brenton's English Septuagint · Berean Standard Bible

A writing of David. Keep me, O Lord; for I have hoped in thee.
16:1 A Miktam (note: Miktam is probably a musical or liturgical term; used for Psalm 16 and Psalms 56–60.) of David. Preserve me, O God, for in You I take refuge.
I said to the Lord, Thou art my Lord; for thou hast no need of my goodness.
16:2 I said to the LORD, “You are my Lord; apart from You I have no good thing.”
On behalf of the saints that are in his land, he has magnified all his pleasure in them.
16:3 As for the saints in the land, they are the excellence in whom all my delight resides.
Their weaknesses have been multiplied; afterward they hasted. I will by no means assemble their bloody meetings, neither will I make mention of their names with my lips.
16:4 Sorrows will multiply to those who chase other gods. I will not pour out their libations of blood, or speak their names with my lips.
The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou art he that restores my inheritance to me.
16:5 The LORD is my chosen portion and my cup; You have made my lot secure.
The lines have fallen to me in the best places, yea, I have a most excellent heritage.
16:6 The lines of my boundary have fallen in pleasant places; surely my inheritance is delightful.
I will bless the Lord who has instructed me; my reins too have chastened me even till night.
16:7 I will bless the LORD who counsels me; even at night my conscience instructs me (note: Or my heart instructs me; Hebrew my kidneys instruct me).
I foresaw the Lord always before my face; for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved.
16:8 I have set (note: LXX I foresaw) the LORD always before me. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
Therefore my heart rejoiced and my tongue exulted; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:
16:9 Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will dwell securely (note: LXX will dwell in hope).
because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
16:10 For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol, nor will You let Your Holy One see decay (note: Cited in Acts 13:35).
Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou wilt fill me with joy with thy countenance: at thy right hand [there are] delights for ever.
16:11 You have made known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand.
