Psalms 138

Jewish Publication Society 1917 · Berean Standard Bible

[A Psalm] of David. I will give Thee thanks with my whole heart, In the presence of the mighty will I sing praises unto Thee.
Of David. I give You thanks with all my heart; before the gods I sing Your praises.
I will bow down toward Thy holy temple, And give thanks unto Thy name for Thy mercy and for Thy truth; For Thou hast magnified Thy word above all Thy name.
I bow down toward Your holy temple and give thanks to Your name for Your loving devotion and Your faithfulness; You have exalted Your name and Your word above all else.
In the day that I called, Thou didst answer me; Thou didst encourage me in my soul with strength.
On the day I called, You answered me; You emboldened me and strengthened my soul (note: Or You emboldened me with strength in my soul).
All the kings of the earth shall give Thee thanks, O LORD, For they have heard the words of Thy mouth.
All the kings of the earth will give You thanks, O LORD, when they hear the words of Your mouth.
Yea, they shall sing of the ways of the LORD; For great is the glory of the LORD.
They will sing of the ways of the LORD, for the glory of the LORD is great.
For though the LORD be high, yet regardeth He the lowly, And the haughty He knoweth from afar.
Though the LORD is on high, He attends to the lowly; but the proud He knows from afar.
Though I walk in the midst of trouble, Thou quickenest me; Thou stretchest forth Thy hand against the wrath of mine enemies, And Thy right hand doth save me.
If I walk in the midst of trouble, You preserve me from the anger of my foes; You extend Your hand, and Your right hand saves me.
The LORD will accomplish that which concerneth me; Thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever; Forsake not the work of Thine own hands.
The LORD will fulfill His purpose for me. O LORD, Your loving devotion endures forever—do not abandon the works of Your hands.
