Psalms 126
Clementine Vulgate · Berean Standard Bible
Canticum graduum Salomonis. Nisi Dominus ædificaverit domum, in vanum laboraverunt qui ædificant eam. Nisi Dominus custodierit civitatem, frustra vigilat qui custodit eam.
A song of ascents. When the LORD restored the captives of Zion (note: Or brought back the captives to Zion or restored the fortunes of Zion), we were like dreamers (note: Or like those restored to health).
Vanum est vobis ante lucem surgere : surgite postquam sederitis, qui manducatis panem doloris. Cum dederit dilectis suis somnum,
Then our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with shouts of joy. Then it was said among the nations, “The LORD has done great things for them.”
ecce hæreditas Domini, filii ; merces, fructus ventris.
The LORD has done great things for us; we are filled with joy.
Sicut sagittæ in manu potentis, ita filii excussorum.
Restore our captives (note: Or Restore our fortunes), O LORD, like streams in the Negev.
Beatus vir qui implevit desiderium suum ex ipsis : non confundetur cum loquetur inimicis suis in porta.
Those who sow in tears will reap with shouts of joy.
