Parallel

Psalms 125

Brenton's English Septuagint · Berean Standard Bible

A Song of Degrees. When the Lord turned the captivity of Sion, we became as comforted ones.
126:1 A song of ascents. When the LORD restored the captives of Zion (note: Or brought back the captives to Zion or restored the fortunes of Zion), we were like dreamers (note: Or like those restored to health).
Then was our mouth filled with joy, and our tongue with exultation: then would they say among the Gentiles,
126:2 Then our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with shouts of joy. Then it was said among the nations, “The LORD has done great things for them.”
The Lord has done great things among them. The Lord has done great things for us, we became joyful.
126:3 The LORD has done great things for us; we are filled with joy.
Turn, O Lord, our captivity, as the streams in the south.
126:4 Restore our captives (note: Or Restore our fortunes), O LORD, like streams in the Negev.
They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
126:5 Those who sow in tears will reap with shouts of joy.
They went on and wept as they cast their seeds; but they shall surely come with exultation, bringing their sheaves [with them].
126:6 He who goes out weeping, bearing a trail of seed, will surely return with shouts of joy, carrying sheaves of grain.
