Psalms 119

Brenton's English Septuagint · Berean Standard Bible

A Song of Degrees. In mine affliction I cried to the Lord, and he hearkened to me.
120:1 A song of ascents. In my distress I cried to the LORD, and He answered me.
Deliver my soul, O Lord, from unjust lips, and from a deceitful tongue.
120:2 Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips and a deceitful tongue.
What should be given to thee, and what should be added to thee, for [thy] crafty tongue?
120:3 What will He do to you, and what will be added to you, O deceitful tongue?
Sharpened weapons of the mighty, with coals of the desert.
120:4 Sharp arrows will come from the warrior, with burning coals of the broom tree!
Woe is me, that my sojourning is prolonged; I have tabernacled among the tents of Kedar.
120:5 Woe to me that I dwell in Meshech, that I live among the tents of Kedar!
My soul has long been a sojourner;
120:6 Too long have I dwelt among those who hate peace.
I was peaceable among them that hated peace; when I spoke to them, they warred against me without a cause.
120:7 I am in favor of peace; but when I speak, they want war.
