Psalms 111 — parallel

111:1

αλληλουια μακάριος ἀνὴρ ὁ φοβούμενος τὸν κύριον ἐν ταῖς ἐντολαῖς αὐτοῦ θελήσει σφόδρα

^112:1 Hallelujah! Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who greatly delights in His commandments.

111:2

δυνατὸν ἐν τῇ γῇ ἔσται τὸ σπέρμα αὐτοῦ γενεὰ εὐθείων εὐλογηθήσεται

^112:2 His descendants will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed.

111:3

δόξα καὶ πλοῦτος ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἡ δικαιοσύνη αὐτοῦ μένει εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα τοῦ αἰῶνος

^112:3 Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever.

111:4

ἐξανέτειλεν ἐν σκότει φῶς τοῖς εὐθέσιν ἐλεήμων καὶ οἰκτίρμων καὶ δίκαιος

^112:4 Light dawns in the darkness for the upright—for the gracious, compassionate, and righteous.

111:5

χρηστὸς ἀνὴρ ὁ οἰκτίρων καὶ κιχρῶν οἰκονομήσει τοὺς λόγους αὐτοῦ ἐν κρίσει

^112:5 It is well with the man who is generous and lends freely, whose affairs are guided by justice.

111:6

ὅτι εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα οὐ σαλευθήσεται εἰς μνημόσυνον αἰώνιον ἔσται δίκαιος

^112:6 Surely he will never be shaken; the righteous man will be remembered forever.

111:7

ἀπὸ ἀκοῆς πονηρᾶς οὐ φοβηθήσεται ἑτοίμη ἡ καρδία αὐτοῦ ἐλπίζειν ἐπὶ κύριον

^112:7 He does not fear bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD.

111:8

ἐστήρικται ἡ καρδία αὐτοῦ οὐ μὴ φοβηθῇ ἕως οὗ ἐπίδῃ ἐπὶ τοὺς ἐχθροὺς αὐτοῦ

^112:8 His heart is assured; he does not fear, until he looks in triumph on his foes.

111:9

ἐσκόρπισεν ἔδωκεν τοῖς πένησιν ἡ δικαιοσύνη αὐτοῦ μένει εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα τοῦ αἰῶνος τὸ κέρας αὐτοῦ ὑψωθήσεται ἐν δόξῃ

^112:9 He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor; his righteousness endures ; his horn will be lifted high in honor.

111:10

ἁμαρτωλὸς ὄψεται καὶ ὀργισθήσεται τοὺς ὀδόντας αὐτοῦ βρύξει καὶ τακήσεται ἐπιθυμία ἁμαρτωλῶν ἀπολεῖται

^112:10 The wicked man will see and be grieved; he will gnash his teeth and waste away; the desires of the wicked will perish.
