Und die Töchter Zelophehads, des Sohnes Hephers, des Sohnes Gileads, des Sohnes Machirs, des Sohnes Manasses, unter den Geschlechtern Manasses, des Sohnes Josephs, mit Namen Mahela, Noa, Hogla, Milka und Thirza, kamen herzu
Now the daughters of Zelophehad son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, belonged to the clans of Manasseh son of Joseph. These were the names of his daughters: Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah. They approached
und traten vor Mose und vor Eleasar, den Priester, und vor die Fürsten und die ganze Gemeinde vor der Tür der Hütte des Stifts und sprachen:
the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, stood before Moses, Eleazar the priest, the leaders, and the whole congregation, and said,
Unser Vater ist gestorben in der Wüste und war nicht mit unter der Gemeinde, die sich wider den HErrn empörte in der Rotte Korahs, sondern ist an seiner Sünde gestorben, und hatte keine Söhne.
“Our father died in the wilderness, but he was not among the followers of Korah who gathered together against the LORD. Instead, he died because of his own sin, and he had no sons.
Warum soll denn unsres Vaters Name unter seinem Geschlecht untergehen, weil er keinen Sohn hat? Gebt uns auch ein Gut unter unsres Vaters Brüdern!
Why should the name of our father disappear from his clan because he had no sons? Give us property among our father’s brothers.”
Die Töchter Zelophehads haben recht geredet; du sollst ihnen ein Erbgut unter ihres Vaters Brüdern geben und sollst ihres Vaters Erbe ihnen zuwenden.
“The daughters of Zelophehad speak correctly. You certainly must give them property as an inheritance among their father’s brothers and transfer their father’s inheritance to them.
Und sage den Kindern Israel: Wenn jemand stirbt und hat nicht Söhne, so sollt ihr sein Erbe seiner Tochter zuwenden.
Furthermore, you shall say to the Israelites, ‘If a man dies and leaves no son, you are to transfer his inheritance to his daughter.
Hat er keine Tochter, sollt ihr's seinen Brüdern geben.
If he has no daughter, give his inheritance to his brothers.
Hat er keine Brüder, sollt ihr's seines Vaters Brüdern geben.
If he has no brothers, give his inheritance to his father’s brothers.
Hat er nicht Vatersbrüder, sollt ihr's seinen nächsten Blutsfreunden geben, die ihm angehören in seinem Geschlecht, dass sie es einnehmen. Das soll den Kindern Israel ein Gesetz und Recht sein, wie der HErr dem Mose geboten hat.
And if his father has no brothers, give his inheritance to the next of kin from his clan, that he may take possession of it. This is to be a statutory ordinance for the Israelites, as the LORD has commanded Moses.’”
Und der HErr sprach zu Mose: Steig auf dies Gebirge Abarim und besiehe das Land, das ich den Kindern Israel gebe werde.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go up this mountain of the Abarim range (note: LXX Go up Mount Nebo beyond the Jordan) and see the land that I have given the Israelites.
Und wenn du es gesehen hast, sollst du dich sammeln zu deinem Volk, wie dein Bruder Aaron versammelt ist,
After you have seen it, you too will be gathered to your people, as your brother Aaron was;
dieweil ihr meinem Wort ungehorsam gewesen seid in der Wüste Zin bei dem Hader der Gemeinde, da ihr mich heiligen solltet durch das Wasser vor ihnen. Das ist das Haderwasser zu Kades in der Wüste Zin.
for when the congregation contended in the Wilderness of Zin, both of you rebelled against My command to show My holiness in their sight regarding the waters.” Those were the waters of Meribah (note: Meribah means quarreling; see Exodus 17:7.) in Kadesh, in the Wilderness of Zin.
Der HErr, der Gott der Geister alles Fleisches, wolle einen Mann setzen über die Gemeinde,
“May the LORD, the God of the spirits of all flesh, appoint a man over the congregation
der vor ihnen her aus und ein gehe und sie aus und ein führe, dass die Gemeinde des HErrn nicht sei wie die Schafe ohne Hirten.
who will go out and come in before them, and who will lead them out and bring them in, so that the congregation of the LORD will not be like sheep without a shepherd.”
Und der HErr sprach zu Mose: Nimm Josua zu dir, den Sohn Nuns, einen Mann, in dem der Geist ist, und lege deine Hände auf ihn
And the LORD replied to Moses, “Take Joshua son of Nun, a man with the Spirit in him, and lay your hands on him.
und stelle ihn vor den Priester Eleasar und vor die ganze Gemeinde und gebiete ihm vor ihren Augen,
Have him stand before Eleazar the priest and the whole congregation, and commission him in their sight.
und lege von deiner Herrlichkeit auf ihn, dass ihm gehorche die ganze Gemeinde der Kinder Israel.
Confer on him some of your authority, so that the whole congregation of Israel will obey him.
Und er soll treten vor den Priester Eleasar, der soll für ihn ratfragen durch die Weise des Lichts vor dem HErrn. Nach desselben Mund sollen aus und ein ziehen er und alle Kinder Israel mit ihm und die ganze Gemeinde.
He shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who will seek counsel for him before the LORD by the judgment of the Urim (note: Literally the Lights). At his command, he and all the Israelites with him—the entire congregation—will go out and come in.”
Mose tat, wie ihm der HErr geboten hatte, und nahm Josua und stellte ihn vor den Priester Eleasar und vor die ganze Gemeinde
Moses did as the LORD had commanded him. He took Joshua, had him stand before Eleazar the priest and the whole congregation,
und legte seine Hand auf ihn und gebot ihm, wie der HErr mit Mose geredet hatte.
and laid his hands on him and commissioned him, as the LORD had instructed through Moses.
