Now these are the priests and Levites who went up with Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel and with Jeshua: Seraiah, Jeremiah, Ezra,
Amarias, Melluch, Hattus,
Amariah, Malluch (note: Malluch is a variant of Malluchi; see verse 14.), Hattush,
Sechénias, Réhum, Mérimuth,
Shecaniah, Rehum (note: Rehum is a variant of Harim; see verse 15, Nehemiah 7:42, and Ezra 2:39.), Meremoth,
Addo, Genthon, Abias,
Iddo, Ginnethon (note: Many Hebrew manuscripts and Vulgate (see also verse 16); most MT manuscripts Ginnethoi), Abijah,
Miamin, Maadias, Belga,
Mijamin (note: Mijamin is a variant of Miniamin; see verse 17.), Maadiah (note: Maadiah is a variant of Moadiah; see verse 17.), Bilgah (note: Bilgah is a variant of Bilgai; also in verse 18; see Nehemiah 10:8.),
Sellum, Amoc, Helcias, Idaïas. Ce furent là les chefs des prêtres et de leurs frères au temps de Josué.
Sallu, Amok, Hilkiah, and Jedaiah. These were the leaders of the priests and their associates in the days of Jeshua.
Lévites : Josué, Bennui, Cedmiel, Sarébias, Juda, Mathanias, qui était préposé, avec ses frères, au chant des louanges ;
The Levites were Jeshua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebiah, Judah, and Mattaniah, who, with his associates, led the songs of thanksgiving.
Becbécias et Hanni, leurs frères, formaient dans le service le chœur opposé.
Bakbukiah and Unni, their associates, stood across from them in the services.
Josué engendra Joakim, Joakim engendra Eliasib, Eliasib engendra Joïada,
Jeshua was the father of Joiakim, Joiakim was the father of Eliashib, Eliashib was the father of Joiada,
Joïada engendra Jonathan, et Jonathan engendra Jeddoa.
Joiada was the father of Jonathan (note: Jonathan is a variant of Johanan; see verse 22.), and Jonathan was the father of Jaddua.

In the days of Joiakim, these were the heads of the priestly families: of the family of Seraiah, Meraiah; of Jeremiah, Hananiah;
pour Milicho, Jonathan ; pour Sébénias, Joseph ;
of Malluchi (note: Malluchi is a variant of Malluch; see verse 2.), Jonathan; of Shebaniah (note: Shebaniah is a variant of Shecaniah; see verse 3; see also Syriac and some Hebrew and LXX manuscripts.), Joseph;
pour Haram, Edna ; pour Maraïoth, Helci ;

Au temps d'Eliasib, de Joiada, de Johanan et de Jeddoa, les lévites, chefs de famille, et les prêtres furent inscrits, sous le règne de Darius, le Perse.
In the days of Eliashib, Joiada, Johanan (note: Johanan is a variant of Jonathan; see verse 11.), and Jaddua, during the reign of Darius the Persian, the heads of the families of the Levites and priests were recorded.
Les fils de Lévi, chefs de famille, furent inscrits dans le livre des Chroniques, jusqu'au temps de Johanan, fils d'Eliasib.
As for the descendants of Levi, the family heads up to the days of Johanan son of Eliashib were recorded in the Book of the Chronicles.
Chefs des lévites : Hasébias, Sérébias et Josué, fils de Cedmiel, chargés, avec leurs frères en face d'eux, de célébrer et de louer Dieu, selon l'ordre de David, homme de Dieu, un groupe alternant avec l'autre groupe.
The leaders of the Levites were Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua son of Kadmiel (note: Or Sherebiah, Jeshua, Binnui, and Kadmiel), along with their associates, who stood across from them to give praise and thanksgiving as one section alternated with the other, as prescribed by David the man of God.
Mathanias, Becbécias, Abdias, Mosollam, Telmon et Accub, portiers, faisaient la garde au seuil des portes.
Mattaniah, Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, and Akkub were gatekeepers who guarded the storerooms at the gates.

They served in the days of Joiakim son of Jeshua, the son of Jozadak (note: Jozadak is a variant of Jehozadak; see 1 Chronicles 6:14.), and in the days of Nehemiah the governor and Ezra the priest and scribe.

The singers were also assembled from the region around Jerusalem, from the villages of the Netophathites,

from Beth-gilgal, and from the fields of Geba and Azmaveth, for they had built villages for themselves around Jerusalem.
Les prêtres et les lévites, après s'être purifiés, purifièrent le peuple, les portes et la muraille.
After the priests and Levites had purified themselves, they purified the people, the gates, and the wall.

Then I brought the leaders of Judah up on the wall, and I appointed two great thanksgiving choirs. One was to proceed along the top of the wall (note: Or alongside the wall; also in verse 38) to the right, toward the Dung Gate.

At the Fountain Gate they went directly up the steps of the City of David on the ascent to the wall and passed above the house of David to the Water Gate on the east.

The second thanksgiving choir proceeded to the left, and I followed it with half the people along the top of the wall, past the Tower of the Ovens to the Broad Wall,
puis, d'au dessus de la porte d'Ephraïm, de la Vieille porte, de la porte des Poissons, de la tour de Hananéel et de la tour de Méa, jusqu'à la porte des Brebis ; et l'on s'arrêta à la porte de la Prison.
over the Gate (note: Or the Old City Gate) of Ephraim, the Jeshanah Gate, the Fish Gate, the Tower of Hananel, and the Tower of the Hundred, as far as the Sheep Gate. And they stopped at the Gate of the Guard.

The two thanksgiving choirs then stood in the house of God, as did I, along with the half of the officials accompanying me,
et les prêtres Eliacim, Maasias, Miamin, Michée, Elioénaï, Zacharie, Ananie, avec des trompettes,
as well as the priests with their trumpets—Eliakim, Maaseiah, Miniamin, Micaiah, Elioenai, Zechariah, and Hananiah—
et Maasias, Séméïas, Eléazar, Azzi, Johanan, Melchias, Elam et Ezer. Et les chantres se firent entendre, avec Jezraïas, leur chef.
and also Maaseiah, Shemaiah, Eleazar, Uzzi, Jehohanan, Malchijah, Elam, and Ezer. Then the choirs sang out under the direction of Jezrahiah.
Ils offrirent ce jour-là de grands sacrifices et se livrèrent aux réjouissances, car Dieu leur avait donné un grand sujet de joie. Les femmes et les enfants se réjouirent aussi, et les cris de joie de Jérusalem furent entendus au loin.
On that day they offered great sacrifices, rejoicing because God had given them great joy. The women and children also rejoiced, so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard from afar.
En ce temps-là, on établit des hommes préposés aux chambres qui servaient de magasins pour les offrandes prélevées, les prémices et les dîmes, et on les chargea d'y recueillir, du territoire des villes, les portions assignées par la loi aux prêtres et aux lévites ; car Juda se réjouissait de voir à leur poste les prêtres et les lévites,
And on that same day men were appointed over the rooms that housed the supplies, contributions, firstfruits, and tithes. The portions specified by the Law for the priests and Levites were gathered into these storerooms from the fields of the villages, because Judah rejoiced over the priests and Levites who were serving.
observant le service de leur Dieu, et le service des purifications ; et de même, les chantres et les portiers, selon l'ordonnance de David et de Salomon, son fils.
They performed the service of their God and the service of purification, along with the singers and gatekeepers, as David and his son Solomon had prescribed.
Car autrefois, dans les jours de David et d'Asaph, le chef des chantres, il y avait des chants de louange et d'actions de grâces en l'honneur de Dieu.
For long ago, in the days of David and Asaph, there were directors for the singers and for the songs of praise and thanksgiving to God.
Tout Israël, dans les jours de Zorobabel et de Néhémie, donnait jour par jour les portions des chantres et des portiers ; on donnait aux lévites les saintes offrandes, et les lévites en donnaient leur part aux fils d'Aaron.
So in the days of Zerubbabel and Nehemiah, all Israel contributed the daily portions for the singers and gatekeepers. They also set aside daily portions for the Levites, and the Levites set aside daily portions for the descendants of Aaron.
