Und in diesem allem machen wir einen festen Bund und schreiben und lassen's unsre Fürsten, Leviten und Priester versiegeln.
Now these were the ones who sealed the document: Nehemiah the governor, son of Hacaliah, and also Zedekiah,
Die Versiegler aber waren: Nehemia, der Landpfleger, der Sohn Hachaljas, und Zedekia,
Seraiah, Azariah, Jeremiah,
Mesullam, Abia, Mijamin,
Maaziah, Bilgai (note: Bilgai is a variant of Bilgah; see Nehemiah 12:5.), and Shemaiah. These were the priests.
Maasja, Bilgai und Semaja, das waren die Priester;
The Levites: Jeshua son of Azaniah, Binnui of the sons of Henadad, Kadmiel,
die Leviten aber waren: Jesua, der Sohn Asanjas, Binnui von den Kindern Henadads, Kadmiel
and their associates: Shebaniah, Hodiah, Kelita, Pelaiah, Hanan,
Hodia, Bani und Beninu;
And the leaders of the people: Parosh, Pahath-moab, Elam, Zattu, Bani,
Malluch, Harim und Baana.
“The rest of the people—the priests, Levites, gatekeepers, singers, temple servants (note: Hebrew Nethinim), and all who had separated themselves from the people of the land to obey the Law of God—along with their wives and all their sons and daughters who are able to understand,
Und das andere Volk, Priester, Leviten, Torhüter, Sänger, Tempelknechte und alle, die sich von den Völker in den Landen abgesondert hatten zum Gesetz Gottes, samt ihren Weibern, Söhnen und Töchtern, alle, die es verstehen konnten,
hereby join with their noble brothers and commit themselves with a sworn oath to follow the Law of God given through His servant Moses and to obey carefully all the commandments, ordinances, and statutes of the LORD our Lord.
hielten sich zu ihren Brüdern, den Mächtigen, und kamen, dass sie schwuren und sich mit einem Eide verpflichteten, zu wandeln im Gesetz Gottes, das durch Mose, den Knecht Gottes, gegeben ist, dass sie es hielten und tun wollten nach allen Geboten, Rechten und Sitten des HErrn, unsres Herrschers;
We will not give our daughters in marriage to the people of the land, and we will not take their daughters for our sons.
und dass wir den Völkern im Lande unsre Töchter nicht geben noch ihre Töchter unsren Söhnen nehmen wollten;
When the people of the land bring merchandise or any kind of grain to sell on the Sabbath day, we will not buy from them on a Sabbath or holy day. Every seventh year we will let the fields lie fallow and will cancel every debt.
auch wenn die Völker im Lande am Sabbattage bringen Ware und allerlei Getreide zu verkaufen, dass wir nichts von ihnen nehmen wollten am Sabbat und den Heiligen Tagen; und dass wir das siebente Jahr von aller Hand Beschwerung freilassen wollten.
We also place ourselves under the obligation to contribute a third of a shekel (note: A third of a shekel is approximately 0.13 ounces or 3.8 grams, probably of silver.) yearly for the service of the house of our God:
Und wir legten ein Gebot auf uns, dass wir jährlich einen dritten Teil eines Silberlings gäben zum Dienst im Hause unsres Gottes,
for the showbread, for the regular grain offerings and burnt offerings, for the Sabbath offerings, for the New Moons and appointed feasts, for the holy offerings, for the sin offerings to make atonement for Israel, and for all the duties of the house of our God.
nämlich zu Schaubrot, zu täglichem Speisopfer, zum täglichen Brandopfer, zum Opfer des Sabbats, der Neumonde und Festtage und zu dem Geheiligten und zum Sündopfer, damit Israel versöhnt werde, und zu allem Geschäft im Hause unsres Gottes.
We have cast lots among the priests, Levites, and people for the donation of wood by our families at the appointed times each year. They are to bring it to the house of our God to burn on the altar of the LORD our God, as it is written in the Law.
Und wir warfen das Los unter den Priestern, Leviten und dem Volk um das Opfer des Holzes, das man zum Hause unsres Gottes bringen sollte jährlich nach unsren Vaterhäusern auf bestimmte Zeit, zu brennen auf dem Altar des HErrn, unsres Gottes, wie es im Gesetz geschrieben steht.
We will also bring the firstfruits of our land and of every fruit tree to the house of the LORD year by year.
Und wir wollen jährlich bringen die Erstlinge unsres Landes und die Erstlinge aller Früchte auf allen Bäumen zum Hause des HErrn;
And we will bring the firstborn of our sons and our livestock, as it is written in the Law, and will bring the firstborn of our herds and flocks to the house of our God, to the priests who minister in the house of our God.
und die Erstlinge unsrer Söhne und unsres Viehs, wie es im Gesetz geschrieben steht, und die Erstlinge unsrer Rinder und unsrer Schafe wollen wir zum Hause unsres Gottes bringen den Priestern, die im Hause unsres Gottes dienen.
Moreover, we will bring to the priests at the storerooms of the house of our God the firstfruits of our dough, of our grain offerings, of the fruit of all our trees, and of our new wine and oil. A tenth of our produce belongs to the Levites, so that they shall receive tithes in all the towns where we labor.
Auch wollen wir bringen das Erste unsres Teiges und unsre Hebopfer und Früchte von allerlei Bäumen, Most und Öl den Priestern in die Kammern am Hause unsres Gottes und den Zehnten unsres Landes den Leviten, dass die Leviten den Zehnten haben in allen Städten unsres Ackerwerks.
A priest of Aaron’s line is to accompany the Levites when they collect the tenth, and the Levites are to bring a tenth of these tithes to the storerooms of the treasury in the house of our God.
Und der Priester, der Sohn Aarons, soll mit den Leviten sein, wenn sie den Zehnten nehmen, dass die Leviten den Zehnten ihrer Zehnten heraufbringen zum Hause unsres Gottes in die Kammern im Vorratshause.
For the Israelites and the Levites are to bring the contributions of grain, new wine, and oil to the storerooms where the articles of the sanctuary are kept and where the ministering priests, the gatekeepers, and the singers stay. Thus we will not neglect the house of our God.”
