ואמר רבי לוי בר חיתא הנפטר מן המת לא יאמר לו לך לשלום אלא לך בשלום הנפטר מן החי לא יאמר לו לך בשלום אלא לך לשלום

הנפטר מן המת לא יאמר לו לך לשלום אלא לך בשלום שנאמר (בראשית טו, טו) ואתה תבא אל אבותיך בשלום

הנפטר מן החי לא יאמר לו לך בשלום אלא לך לשלום שהרי דוד שאמר לאבשלום (שמואל ב טו, ט) לך בשלום הלך ונתלה יתרו שאמר למשה (שמות ד, יח) לך לשלום הלך והצליח

ואמר רבי לוי כל היוצא מבית הכנסת לבית המדרש ומבית המדרש לבית הכנסת זוכה ומקבל פני שכינה שנאמר (תהלים פד, ח) ילכו מחיל אל חיל יראה אל אלהים בציון

אמר רב חייא בר אשי אמר רב תלמידי חכמים אין להם מנוחה אפילו לעולם הבא שנאמר ילכו מחיל אל חיל יראה אל אלהים בציון:

Levi:9 Whoever comes out of the Synagogue and goes into the Beth Hamidrash, or from the Beth Hamidrash to the synagogue shall gain the privilege of being admitted into the Presence of the Shechinah,10 as it is said: They go from strength to strength, every one of them appeareth before God in Zion.11 R. Hiyya b. Ashi as citing Rab, said: The disciples of the Sages have no rest even in the world to come, as it is said: They go from strength to strength, every one of them appeareth before God in Zion. find the terms used to be of Greek origin, just as we have many naval terms in English of Dutch origin. hrupm in the sense of ‘rigging’ is seemingly the Greek ** = cord, rope, especially a ship's cable. The term may mean the ‘top-sail’, ** Latin, siparum and supparum, which is defined by Festus as, Velum Minus in navi ut acation (acatium) majus; (v. Lewis and Short, Lat. Dict. s.v.).
