Now a man named Micah from the hill country of Ephraim
Il dit à sa mère : " Les mille et cent sicles d'argent qu'on t'a pris, et au sujet desquels tu as prononcé une malédiction, — et tu l'as même prononcée à mes oreilles, — voici, cet argent est entre mes mains, c'est moi qui l'ai pris. " Et sa mère dit : " Que mon fils soit béni de Yahweh ! "
said to his mother, “The eleven hundred shekels of silver (note: 1,100 shekels is approximately 27.6 pounds or 12.5 kilograms of silver; also in verse 3.) that were taken from you and about which I heard you utter a curse—I have the silver here with me; I took it.” Then his mother said, “Blessed be my son by the LORD!”
Il rendit à sa mère les mille et cent sicles d'argent ; et sa mère dit : " Je consacre de ma main cet argent à Yahweh pour mon fils, afin d'en faire une image taillée et un objet en fonte ; et maintenant je te le rends. "
And when he had returned the eleven hundred shekels of silver to his mother, she said, “I wholly dedicate the silver to the LORD for my son’s benefit, to make a graven image and a molten idol. Therefore I will now return it to you.”

So he returned the silver to his mother, and she took two hundred shekels of silver (note: 200 shekels is approximately 5 pounds or 2.3 kilograms of silver.) and gave them to a silversmith, who made them into a graven image and a molten idol. And they were placed in the house of Micah.
Car ce Michas avait une maison de Dieu ; il fit un éphod et des théraphim, et il consacra un de ses fils, qui lui servit de prêtre.
Now this man Micah had a shrine, and he made an ephod and some household idols, and ordained one of his sons as his priest.

In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes.
Il y avait un jeune homme de Bethléem de Juda, de la famille de Juda ; il était Lévite et séjournait dans celle ville.
And there was a young Levite from Bethlehem in Judah who had been residing within the clan of Judah.
Cet homme partit de la ville de Bethléem de Juda, pour trouver un lieu de séjour. Il arriva ainsi dans la montagne d'Ephraïm, jusqu'à la maison de Michas.
This man left the city of Bethlehem in Judah to settle where he could find a place. And as he traveled, he came to Micah’s house in the hill country of Ephraim.
Michas lui dit : " D'où viens-tu ? " Il lui répondit : " Je suis Lévite, de Bethléem de Juda, et je voyage pour trouver un lieu de séjour. "
“Where are you from?” Micah asked him. “I am a Levite from Bethlehem in Judah,” he replied, “and I am on my way to settle wherever I can find a place.”
Michas lui dit : " Reste avec moi ; sois pour moi un père et un prêtre, et je te donnerai dix sicles d'argent par an, une provision de vêtements et la nourriture. " Et le Lévite entra.
“Stay with me,” Micah said to him, “and be my father and priest, and I will give you ten shekels of silver (note: 10 shekels is approximately 4 ounces or 114 grams of silver.) per year, a suit of clothes, and your provisions.” So the Levite went in

and agreed to stay with him, and the young man became like a son to Micah.
Michas installa le Lévite, et le jeune homme lui servit de prêtre et demeura dans la maison de Michas.
Micah ordained the Levite, and the young man became his priest and lived in his house.
Et Michas dit : " Je sais maintenant que Yahweh me fera du bien, puisque j'ai ce Lévite pour prêtre. "
Then Micah said, “Now I know that the LORD will be good to me, because a Levite has become my priest.”
