Parallel
Job 25
Swete's Septuagint · Berean Standard Bible
Τί γὰρ προοίμιον ἥ φόβος ὁ παρʼ αὐτοῦ, ὁ ποιῶν τὴν σύμπασον ἐν ύψίστῳ;
“Dominion and awe belong to God; He establishes harmony in the heights of heaven.
μὴ γάρ τισ ὑπολάβοι ὅτι ἐστὶν παρέλκυσις πειραταῖς; ἔπὶ τίνας δὲ οὐκ ἐπελεύσεται ἕναντι Κυρίου;
Can His troops be numbered? On whom does His light not rise?
πῶς υὰρ ἔσται δίκαιος βροτὸς ἔναντι κυρίου; ἢ τίς ἂν ἀποκαθαρίσαι αὺτὸν γεννητὸς γυναικός;
How then can a man be just before God? How can one born of woman be pure?
ἦ σελήνῃ συντάσσει, καὶ οὐκ έπιφαύσκει· ἄστρα δὲ οὐ καθαρὰ ἐναντίον αὐτοῦ.
If even the moon does not shine, and the stars are not pure in His sight,
ἔα δέ, ἄνθρωπος σαπρία καὶ υίὸς ἀνθρώπου ακώληξ.
how much less man, who is but a maggot, and the son of man, who is but a worm!”
