Καὶ ἐγένετο τῷ μηνὶ τῷ ἐνάτῳ τοῦ Σεδεκία βασιλέως Ἰούδα παρεγένετο Ναβουχοδονοσὸρ βασιλεὺς Βαβυλῶνος καὶ πᾶσα ἡ δύναμις αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ Ἰερουσαλήμ, καὶ ἐπολιόρκουν αὐτήν.
39:1
In the ninth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the tenth month, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon marched against Jerusalem with his entire army and laid siege to the city.
καὶ ἐν τῷ ἑνδεκάτῳ ἔτει τοῦ Σεδεκία ἐν τῷ μηνὶ τῷ τετάρτῳ ἐνάτῃ τοῦ μηνὸς ἐρράγη ἡ πόλις,
39:2
And on the ninth day of the fourth month of Zedekiah’s eleventh year, the city was breached.
καὶ εἰσῆλθον πάντες οἱ ἡγούμενοι βασιλέως Βαβυλῶνος, καὶ ἐκάθισαν ἐν πύλῃ τῇ μέσῃ, Μαργανασὰρ καὶ Σαμαγὼθ καὶ Ναβουσαχὰρ καὶ Ναβουσαρείς, Ναγαργασνασέρ, Ῥαβαμάθ, καὶ οἱ κατάλοιποι ἡγεμόνες βασιλέως Βαβυλῶνος.
39:3
Then all the officials of the king of Babylon entered and sat in the Middle Gate: Nergal-sharezer of Samgar, Nebo-sarsekim (note: Or Nergal-sharezer, Samgar-nebo, Sarsekim) the Rabsaris (note: Hebrew Rabsaris is the title of the chief eunuch in the Assyrian military; also in verse 13.), Nergal-sharezer the Rabmag (note: Hebrew Rabmag is the title of the chief soothsayer or chief of princes in the Assyrian military; also in verse 13.), and all the rest of the officials of the king of Babylon.
καὶ ἀπέστειλαν καὶ ἔλαβον τὸν Ἰερεμίαν ἐξ αὐλῆς τῆς φυλακῆς, καὶ ἔδωκαν αὐτὸν πρὸς τὸν Γοδολίαν υἱὸν Ἀχεικὰμ υἱοῦ Σαφάν, καὶ ἐξήγαγον αὐτόν, καὶ ἐκάθισεν ἐν μέσῳ τοῦ λαοῦ.
39:14
had Jeremiah brought from the courtyard of the guard, and they turned him over to Gedaliah son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, to take him home. So Jeremiah remained among his own people.
καὶ πρὸς Ἰερεμίαν ἐγένετο λόγος Κυρίου ἐν τῇ αὐλῇ τῆς φυλακῆς λέγων
39:15
And while Jeremiah had been confined in the courtyard of the guard, the word of the LORD had come to him:
Πορεύου καὶ εἰπὸν πρὸς Ἀβδεμέλεχ τὸν Αἰθίοπα Οὕτως εἶπεν Κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ἰσραήλ Ἰηοὺ ἐγὼ φέρω τοὺς λόγους μου ἐπὶ τὴν πόλιν ταύτην εἰς κακὰ καὶ οὐκ εἰς ἀγαθά,
39:16
“Go and tell Ebed-melech the Cushite that this is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: ‘I am about to fulfill My words against this city for harm and not for good, and on that day they will be fulfilled before your eyes.
καὶ σώσω σε ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ, καὶ οὐ μὴ δώσω σε εἰς χεῖρας τῶν ἀνθρώπων ὧν σὺ φοβῇ ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτῶν.
39:17
But I will deliver you on that day, declares the LORD, and you will not be delivered into the hands of the men whom you fear.
ὅτι σώζων σώσω σε, καὶ ἐν ῥομφαίᾳ οὐ μὴ πέσῃς· καὶ ἔσται ἡ ψυχὴ σου εἰς εὕρεμα, ὅτι ἐπεποίθεις ἐπʼ ἐμοί, φησὶν Κύριος.
39:18
For I will surely rescue you so that you do not fall by the sword. Because you have trusted in Me, you will escape with your life like a spoil of war, declares the LORD.’”
