Jeremiah 29 — parallel

29:1

ἐπὶ τοὺς ἀλλοφύλους

^47:1 This is the word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet about the Philistines before Pharaoh struck down Gaza.

29:2

τάδε λέγει κύριος ἰδοὺ ὕδατα ἀναβαίνει ἀπὸ βορρᾶ καὶ ἔσται εἰς χειμάρρουν κατακλύζοντα καὶ κατακλύσει γῆν καὶ τὸ πλήρωμα αὐτῆς πόλιν καὶ τοὺς κατοικοῦντας ἐν αὐτῇ καὶ κεκράξονται οἱ ἄνθρωποι καὶ ἀλαλάξουσιν ἅπαντες οἱ κατοικοῦντες τὴν γῆν

^47:2 This is what the LORD says: “See how the waters are rising from the north and becoming an overflowing torrent. They will overflow the land and its fullness, the cities and their inhabitants. The people will cry out, and all who dwell in the land will wail

29:3

ἀπὸ φωνῆς ὁρμῆς αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ τῶν ὁπλῶν τῶν ποδῶν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀπὸ σεισμοῦ τῶν ἁρμάτων αὐτοῦ ἤχου τροχῶν αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἐπέστρεψαν πατέρες ἐφ᾿ υἱοὺς αὐτῶν ἀπὸ ἐκλύσεως χειρῶν αὐτῶν

^47:3 at the sound of the galloping hooves of stallions, the rumbling of chariots, and the clatter of their wheels. The fathers will not turn back for their sons; their hands will hang limp.

29:4

ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ ἐρχομένῃ τοῦ ἀπολέσαι πάντας τοὺς ἀλλοφύλους καὶ ἀφανιῶ τὴν Τύρον καὶ τὴν Σιδῶνα καὶ πάντας τοὺς καταλοίπους τῆς βοηθείας αὐτῶν ὅτι ἐξολεθρεύσει κύριος τοὺς καταλοίπους τῶν νήσων

^47:4 For the day has come to destroy all the Philistines, to cut off from Tyre and Sidon every remaining ally. Indeed, the LORD is about to destroy the Philistines, the remnant from the coasts .

29:5

ἥκει φαλάκρωμα ἐπὶ Γάζαν ἀπερρίφη Ἀσκαλὼν καὶ οἱ κατάλοιποι Ενακιμ ἕως τίνος κόψεις

^47:5 The people of Gaza will shave their heads in mourning; Ashkelon will be silenced. O remnant , how long will you gash yourself?

29:6

ἡ μάχαιρα τοῦ κυρίου ἕως τίνος οὐχ ἡσυχάσεις ἀποκατάστηθι εἰς τὸν κολεόν σου ἀνάπαυσαι καὶ ἐπάρθητι

^47:6 ‘Alas, O sword of the LORD, how long until you rest? Return to your sheath; cease and be still!’

29:7

πῶς ἡσυχάσει καὶ κύριος ἐνετείλατο αὐτῇ ἐπὶ τὴν Ἀσκαλῶνα καὶ ἐπὶ τὰς παραθαλασσίους ἐπὶ τὰς καταλοίπους ἐπεγερθῆναι

^47:7 How can it rest when the LORD has commanded it? He has appointed it against Ashkelon and the shore of its coastland.”
