Im Anfang des Königreichs Zedekia, des Sohnes Josias, des Königs in Juda, geschah dies Wort vom HErrn zu Jeremia und sprach:
At the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah (note: A few Hebrew manuscripts and Syriac (see also verses 3 and 12, and Jeremiah 28:1); most Hebrew manuscripts Jehoiakim) son of Josiah king of Judah, this word came to Jeremiah from the LORD.
So spricht der HErr zu mir: Mache dir ein Joch und hänge es an deinen Hals
This is what the LORD said to me: “Make for yourself a yoke out of leather straps and put it on your neck.
und schicke es zum König in Edom, zum König in Moab, zum König der Kinder Ammon, zum König von Tyrus und zum König zu Sidon durch die Boten, so zu Zedekia, dem König Judas, gen Jerusalem gekommen sind,
Send word to the kings of Edom, Moab, Ammon, Tyre, and Sidon through the envoys who have come to Jerusalem to Zedekiah king of Judah.
und befiehl ihnen, dass sie ihren Herren sagen: So spricht der HErr Zebaoth, der Gott Israels: So sollt ihr euren Herren sagen:
Give them a message from the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, to relay to their masters:
Ich habe die Erde gemacht und Menschen und Vieh, so auf Erden sind, durch meine große Kraft und meinen ausgestreckten Arm und gebe sie, wem ich will.
By My great power and outstretched arm, I made the earth and the men and beasts on the face of it, and I give it to whom I please.
Nun aber habe ich alle diese Lande gegeben in die Hand meines Knechtes Nebukadnezar, des Königs zu Babel, und habe ihm auch die wilden Tiere auf dem Felde gegeben, dass sie ihm dienen sollen.
So now I have placed all these lands under the authority of My servant Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. I have even made the beasts of the field subject to him.
Und sollen alle Völker dienen ihm und seinem Sohn und seines Sohnes Sohn, bis dass die Zeit seines Landes auch komme und er vielen Völkern und großen Königen diene.
All nations will serve him and his son and grandson, until the time of his own land comes; then many nations and great kings will enslave him.
Welches Volk aber und Königreich dem König zu Babel, Nebukadnezar, nicht dienen will, und wer seinen Hals nicht wird unter das Joch des Königs zu Babel geben, solch Volk will ich heimsuchen mit Schwert, Hunger und Pestilenz, spricht der HErr, bis dass ich sie durch seine Hand umbringe.
As for the nation or kingdom that does not serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and does not place its neck under his yoke, I will punish that nation by sword and famine and plague, declares the LORD, until I have destroyed it by his hand.
Darum so gehorcht nicht euren Propheten, Weissagern, Traumdeutern, Tagewählern und Zauberern, die euch sagen: Ihr werdet nicht dienen müssen dem König zu Babel.
But as for you, do not listen to your prophets, your diviners, your interpreters of dreams, your mediums, or your sorcerers who declare, ‘You will not serve the king of Babylon.’
Denn sie weissagen euch falsch, auf dass sie euch fern aus eurem Lande bringen und ich euch ausstoße und ihr umkommt.
For they prophesy to you a lie that will serve to remove you from your land; I will banish you and you will perish.
Denn welches Volk seinen Hals ergibt unter das Joch des Königs zu Babel und dient ihm, das will ich in seinem Lande lassen, dass es dasselbe baue und bewohne, spricht der HErr.
But the nation that will put its neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon and serve him, I will leave in its own land, to cultivate it and reside in it, declares the LORD.”
Und ich redete solches alles zu Zedekia, dem König Judas, und sprach: Ergebt euren Hals unter das Joch des Königs zu Babel und dient ihm und seinem Volk, so sollt ihr lebendig bleiben.
And to Zedekiah king of Judah I spoke the same message: “Put your necks under the yoke of the king of Babylon; serve him and his people, and live!
Warum wollt ihr sterben, du und dein Volk, durch Schwert, Hunger und Pestilenz, wie denn der HErr geredet hat über das Volk, so dem König zu Babel nicht dienen will?
Why should you and your people die by sword and famine and plague, as the LORD has decreed against any nation that does not serve the king of Babylon?
Darum gehorcht nicht den Worten der Propheten, die euch sagen: „Ihr werdet nicht dienen müssen dem König zu Babel!” Denn sie weissagen euch falsch,
Do not listen to the words of the prophets who say, ‘You must not serve the king of Babylon,’ for they are prophesying to you a lie.
und ich habe sie nicht gesandt, spricht der HErr; sondern sie weissagen falsch in meinem Namen, auf dass ich euch ausstoße und ihr umkommt samt den Propheten, die euch weissagen.
For I have not sent them, declares the LORD, and yet they are prophesying falsely in My name; therefore I will banish you, and you will perish—you and the prophets who prophesy to you.”
Und zu den Priestern und zu allem diesem Volk redete ich und sprach: So spricht der HErr: Gehorcht nicht den Worten eurer Propheten, die euch weissagen und sprechen: „Siehe, die Gefäße aus dem Hause des HErrn werden nun bald von Babel wieder herkommen!” Denn sie weissagen euch falsch.
Then I said to the priests and to all this people, “This is what the LORD says: Do not listen to the words of your prophets who prophesy to you, saying, ‘Look, very soon now the articles from the house of the LORD will be brought back from Babylon.’ They are prophesying to you a lie.
Gehorchet ihnen nicht, sondern dienet dem König zu Babel, so werdet ihr lebendig bleiben. Warum soll doch diese Stadt zur Wüste werden?
Do not listen to them. Serve the king of Babylon and live! Why should this city become a ruin?
Sind sie aber Propheten und haben des HErrn Wort, so lasst sie vom HErrn Zebaoth erbitten, dass die übrigen Gefäße im Hause des HErrn und im Hause des Königs in Juda und zu Jerusalem nicht auch gen Babel geführt werden.
If they are indeed prophets and the word of the LORD is with them, let them now plead with the LORD of Hosts that the articles remaining in the house of the LORD, in the palace of the king of Judah, and in Jerusalem, not be taken to Babylon.
Denn also spricht der HErr Zebaoth von den Säulen und vom Meer und von dem Gestühl und von den Gefäßen, die noch übrig sind in dieser Stadt,
For this is what the LORD of Hosts says about the pillars, the sea, the bases, and the rest of the articles that remain in this city,
welche Nebukadnezar, der König zu Babel, nicht wegnahm, da er Jechonja, den Sohn Jojakims, den König Judas, von Jerusalem wegführte gen Babel samt allen Fürsten in Juda und Jerusalem,
which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon did not take when he carried Jeconiah (note: Jeconiah is a variant of Jehoiachin; see 2 Kings 24:12.) son of Jehoiakim king of Judah into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon, along with all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem.
denn so spricht der HErr Zebaoth, der Gott Israels, von den Gefäßen, die noch übrig sind im Hause des HErrn und im Hause des Königs in Juda und zu Jerusalem:
Yes, this is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says about the articles that remain in the house of the LORD, in the palace of the king of Judah, and in Jerusalem:
Sie sollen gen Babel geführt werden und daselbst bleiben bis auf den Tag, da ich sie heimsuche, spricht der HErr, und ich sie wiederum herauf an diesen Ort bringen lasse.
‘They will be carried to Babylon and will remain there until the day I attend to them again,’ declares the LORD. ‘Then I will bring them back and restore them to this place.’”
