Wohlan, ich will meinem Lieben singen, ein Lied meines Geliebten von seinem Weinberge: Mein Lieber hat einen Weinberg an einem fetten Ort.
I will sing for my beloved a song of his vineyard: My beloved had a vineyard on a very fertile hill.
Und er hat ihn verzäunt und mit Steinhaufen verwahrt und edle Reben darin gesenkt. Er baute auch einen Turm darin und grub eine Kelter darein und wartete, dass er Trauben brächte; aber er brachte Herlingebedeutet: kleine, unausgereifte, saure Trauben.
He dug it up and cleared the stones and planted the finest vines. He built a watchtower in the middle and dug out a winepress as well. He waited for the vineyard to yield good grapes, but the fruit it produced was sour!
Nun richtet, ihr Bürger zu Jerusalem und ihr Männer Judas, zwischen mir und meinem Weinberge.
“And now, O dwellers of Jerusalem and men of Judah, I exhort you to judge between Me and My vineyard.
Was sollte man doch noch mehr tun an meinem Weinberge, das ich nicht getan habe an ihm? Warum hat er denn Herlinge gebracht, da ich erwartete, dass er Trauben brächte?
What more could have been done for My vineyard than I have done for it? Why, when I expected sweet grapes, did it bring forth sour fruit?
Wohlan, ich will euch zeigen, was ich meinem Weinberge tun will. Seine Wand soll weggenommen werden, dass er verwüstet werde; sein Zaun soll zerrissen werden, dass er zertreten werde.
Now I will tell you what I am about to do to My vineyard: I will take away its hedge, and it will be consumed; I will tear down its wall, and it will be trampled.
Ich will ihn wüst liegen lassen, dass er nicht beschnitten noch gehackt werde, sondern Disteln und Dornen darauf wachsen, und will den Wolken gebieten, dass sie nicht darauf regnen.
I will make it a wasteland, neither pruned nor cultivated, and thorns and briers will grow up. I will command the clouds that rain shall not fall on it.”
Des HErrn Zebaoth Weinberg aber ist das Haus Israel, und die Männer Judas seine Pflanzung, daran er Lust hatte. Er wartete auf Recht, siehe, so ist's Schinderei, auf Gerechtigkeit, siehe, so ist's Klage.
For the vineyard of the LORD of Hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah are the plant of His delight. He looked for justice, but saw bloodshed; for righteousness, but heard a cry of distress.
Weh denen, die ein Haus an das andere ziehen und einen Acker zum andern bringen, bis dass kein Raum mehr da sei, dass sie allein das Land besitzen!
Woe to you who add house to house and join field to field until no place is left and you live alone in the land.
Es ist in meinen Ohren das Wort des HErrn Zebaoth: Was gilt's, wo nicht die vielen Häuser sollen wüst werden und die großen und feinen öde stehen?
I heard the LORD of Hosts declare: “Surely many houses will become desolate, great mansions left unoccupied.
Denn zehn Acker Weinberg soll nur einen Eimer geben und ein Malter Samen soll nur einen Scheffel geben.
For ten acres of vineyard will yield but a bath of wine, and a homer of seed only an ephah of grain.”
Weh denen, die des Morgens früh auf sind, des Saufens sich zu fleißigen, und sitzen bis in die Nacht, dass sie der Wein erhitzt,
Woe to those who rise early in the morning in pursuit of strong drink, who linger into the evening, to be inflamed by wine.
und haben Harfen, Psalter, Pauken, Pfeifen und Wein in ihrem Wohlleben und sehen nicht auf das Werk des HErrn und schauen nicht auf das Geschäft seiner Hände!
At their feasts are the lyre and harp, tambourines and flutes and wine. They disregard the actions of the LORD and fail to see the work of His hands.
Darum wird mein Volk müssen weggeführt werden unversehens, und werden seine Herrlichen Hunger leiden und sein Pöbel Durst leiden.
Therefore My people will go into exile for their lack of understanding; their dignitaries are starving and their masses are parched with thirst.
Daher hat die Hölle den Schlund weit aufgesperrt und den Rachen aufgetan ohne Maß, dass hinunterfahren beide, ihre Herrlichen und der Pöbel, ihre Reichen und Fröhlichen;
Therefore Sheol enlarges its throat and opens wide its enormous jaws, and down go Zion’s nobles and masses, her revelers and carousers!
dass jedermann sich bücken müsse und jedermann gedemütigt werde und die Augen der Hoffärtigen gedemütigt werden,
So mankind will be brought low, and each man humbled; the arrogant will lower their eyes.
aber der HErr Zebaoth erhöht werde im Recht und Gott, der Heilige, geheiligt werde in Gerechtigkeit.
But the LORD of Hosts will be exalted by His justice, and the holy God will show Himself holy in righteousness.
Da werden die Lämmer sich weiden an jener Statt, und Fremdlinge werden sich nähren in den Wüstungen der Fetten.
Lambs will graze as in their own pastures, and strangers (note: LXX lambs) will feed in the ruins of the wealthy.
Weh denen, die am Unrecht ziehen mit Stricken der Lüge und an der Sünde mit Wagenseilen
Woe to those who draw iniquity with cords of deceit and pull sin along with cart ropes,
und sprechen: Lass eilend und bald kommen sein Werk, dass wir's sehen; lass herfahren und kommen den Anschlag des Heiligen in Israel, dass wir's innewerden.
to those who say, “Let Him hurry and hasten His work so that we may see it! Let the plan of the Holy One of Israel come so that we may know it!”
Weh denen, die Böses gut und Gutes böse heißen, die aus Finsternis Licht und aus Licht Finsternis machen, die aus sauer süß und aus süß sauer machen!
Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who turn darkness to light and light to darkness, who replace bitter with sweet and sweet with bitter.
Weh denen, die bei sich selbst weise sind und halten sich selbst für klug!
Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight.
Weh denen, die Helden sind, Wein zu saufen, und Krieger in Völlerei;
Woe to those who are heroes in drinking wine and champions in mixing strong drink,
die den Gottlosen gerechtsprechen um Geschenke willen und das Recht der Gerechten von ihnen wenden!
who acquit the guilty for a bribe and deprive the innocent of justice.
Darum, wie des Feuers Flamme Stroh verzehrt und die Lohe Stoppeln hinnimmt, also wird ihre Wurzel verfaulen und ihre Blüte auffliegen wie Staub. Denn sie verachten das Gesetz des HErrn Zebaoth und lästern die Rede des Heiligen in Israel.
Therefore, as a tongue of fire consumes the straw, and as dry grass shrivels in the flame, so their roots will decay and their blossoms will blow away like dust; for they have rejected the instruction of the LORD of Hosts and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.
Darum ist der Zorn des HErrn ergrimmt über sein Volk, und er reckt seine Hand über sie und schlägt sie, dass die Berge beben und ihre Leichname wie Kot auf den Gassen sind. Und in dem allen lässt sein Zorn nicht ab, sondern seine Hand ist noch ausgereckt.
Therefore the anger of the LORD burns against His people; His hand is raised against them to strike them down. The mountains quake, and the corpses lie like refuse in the streets. Despite all this, His anger is not turned away; His hand is still upraised.
Denn er wird ein Panier aufwerfen fern unter den Heiden und dieselben locken vom Ende der Erde. Und siehe, eilend und schnell kommen sie daher,
He lifts a banner for the distant nations and whistles for those at the ends of the earth. Behold—how speedily and swiftly they come!
und ist keiner unter ihnen müde oder schwach, keiner schlummert noch schläft; keinem geht der Gürtel auf von seinen Lenden, und keinem zerreißt ein Schuhriemen.
None of them grows weary or stumbles; no one slumbers or sleeps. No belt is loose and no sandal strap is broken.
Ihre Pfeile sind scharf und alle ihre Bogen gespannt. Ihrer Rosse Hufe sind wie Felsen geachtet und ihre Wagenräder wie ein Sturmwind.
Their arrows are sharpened, and all their bows are strung. The hooves of their horses are like flint; their chariot wheels are like a whirlwind.
Ihr Brüllen ist wie das der Löwen, und sie brüllen wie junge Löwen; sie werden daherbrausen und den Raub erhaschen und davonbringen, dass niemand retten wird,
Their roaring is like that of a lion; they roar like young lions. They growl and seize their prey; they carry it away, and no one can rescue it.
und werden über sie brausen zu der Zeit wie das Meer. Wenn man dann das Land ansehen wird, siehe, so ist's finster vor Angst, und das Licht scheint nicht mehr oben über ihnen.
In that day they will roar over it, like the roaring of the sea. If one looks over the land, he will see darkness and distress; even the light will be obscured by clouds.
