redet mit Jerusalem freundlich und predigt ihr, dass ihre Dienstbarkeit ein Ende hat, denn ihre Missetat ist vergeben; denn sie hat Zwiefältiges empfangen von der Hand des HErrn für alle ihre Sünden.
“Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and proclaim to her that her forced labor has been completed; her iniquity has been pardoned. For she has received from the hand of the LORD double for all her sins.”
Es ist eine Stimme eines Predigers in der Wüste: Bereitet dem HErrn den Weg, macht auf dem Gefilde eine ebene Bahn unsrem Gott!
A voice of one calling: “Prepare the way for the LORD in the wilderness (note: Or A voice of one calling in the wilderness: “Prepare the way for the LORD); make a straight highway for our God in the desert (note: LXX make straight the paths of our God; cited in Matthew 3:3, Mark 1:3, Luke 3:4, and John 1:23).
Alle Täler sollen erhöht werden und alle Berge und Hügel sollen erniedrigt werden, und was ungleich ist, soll eben, und was höckericht ist, soll schlicht werden;
Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill made low; the uneven ground will become smooth, and the rugged land a plain (note: LXX Every valley shall be filled in, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low. All the crooked ways shall become straight, and the rough places plains. Cited in Luke 3:5).
denn die Herrlichkeit des HErrn soll offenbart werden, und alles Fleisch miteinander wird es sehen; denn des HErrn Mund hat es geredet.
And the glory of the LORD will be revealed, and all humanity together will see it (note: Literally and all flesh together will see it. Cited in Luke 3:6).” For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.
Es spricht eine Stimme: Predige! Und er sprach: Was soll ich predigen? Alles Fleisch ist Gras, und alle seine Güte ist wie eine Blume auf dem Felde.
A voice says, “Cry out!” And I asked, “What should I cry out?” “All flesh is like grass, and all its glory like the flowers of the field.

The grass withers and the flowers fall when the breath of the LORD blows on them; indeed, the people are grass.

Zion, du Predigerin, steig auf deinen hohen Berg; Jerusalem, du Predigerin, hebe deine Stimme auf mit Macht, hebe auf und fürchte dich nicht; sage den Städten Judas: Siehe, da ist euer Gott!
Go up on a high mountain, O Zion, herald of good news. Raise your voice loudly, O Jerusalem, herald of good news. Lift it up, do not be afraid! Say to the cities of Judah, “Here is your God!”
Denn siehe, der Herr HErr kommt gewaltig, und sein Arm wird herrschen. Siehe, sein Lohn ist bei ihm und seine Vergeltung ist vor ihm.
Behold, the Lord GOD comes with might, and His arm establishes His rule. His reward is with Him, and His recompense accompanies Him.
Er wird seine Herde weiden wie ein Hirte; er wird die Lämmer in seine Arme sammeln und in seinem Busen tragen und die Schafmütter führen.
He tends His flock like a shepherd; He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart. He gently leads the nursing ewes.
Wer misst die Wasser mit der hohlen Hand und fasst den Himmel mit der Spanne und begreift den Staub der Erde mit einem Dreiling und wägt die Berge mit einem Gewicht und die Hügel mit einer Waage?
Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, or marked off the heavens with the span of his hand? Who has held the dust of the earth in a basket, or weighed the mountains on a scale and the hills with a balance?
Wer unterrichtet den Geist des HErrn, und welcher Ratgeber unterweist ihn?
Who has directed the Spirit of the LORD (note: Or mind of the LORD; see also LXX.), or informed Him as His counselor?
Wen fragt er um Rat, der ihm Verstand gebe und lehre ihn den Weg des Rechts und lehre ihn die Erkenntnis und unterweise ihn den Weg des Verstandes?
Whom did He consult to enlighten Him, and who taught Him the paths of justice? Who imparted knowledge to Him and showed Him the way of understanding?
Siehe, die Heiden sind geachtet wie ein Tropfen, so im Eimer bleibt, und wie ein Scherflein, so in der Waage bleibt. Siehe, die Inseln sind wie ein Stäublein.
Surely the nations are like a drop in a bucket; they are considered a speck of dust on the scales; He lifts up the islands (note: Or coastlands) like fine dust.
Der Libanon wäre zu gering zum Feuer und seine Tiere zu gering zum Brandopfer.
Lebanon is not sufficient for fuel, nor its animals enough for a burnt offering.
Alle Heiden sind vor ihm nichts und wie ein Nichtiges und Eitles geachtet.
All the nations are as nothing before Him; He regards them as nothingness and emptiness.
Wem wollt ihr denn Gott nachbilden? Oder was für ein Gleichnis wollt ihr ihm zurichten?
To whom will you liken God? To what image will you compare Him?
Der Meister gießt wohl ein Bild, und der Goldschmied übergoldet's und macht silberne Ketten daran.
To an idol that a craftsman casts and a metalworker overlays with gold and fits with silver chains?
Desgleichen wer nur eine arme Gabe vermag, der wählt ein Holz, das nicht fault, und sucht einen klugen Meister dazu, der ein Bild fertige, das beständig sei.
One lacking such an offering chooses wood that will not rot. He seeks a skilled craftsman to set up an idol that will not topple.
Wisset ihr nicht? Hört ihr nicht? Ist's euch nicht vormals verkündigt? Habt ihr's nicht verstanden von Anbeginn der Erde?
Do you not know? Have you not heard? Has it not been declared to you from the beginning? Have you not understood since the foundation of the earth?
Er sitzt auf dem Kreis der Erde, und die darauf wohnen, sind wie Heuschrecken; der den Himmel ausdehnt wie ein dünnes Fell und breitet ihn aus wie eine Hütte, darin man wohnt;
He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth; its dwellers are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.
Der die Fürsten zunichte macht und die Richter auf Erden eitel macht,
He brings the princes to nothing and makes the rulers (note: Or judges) of the earth meaningless.
als wären sie nicht gepflanzt noch gesät und als hätte ihr Stamm keine Wurzel in der Erde, dass sie, wo ein Wind unter sie weht, verdorren und sie ein Windwirbel wie Stoppeln wegführt.
No sooner are they planted, no sooner are they sown, no sooner have their stems taken root in the ground, than He blows on them and they wither, and a whirlwind sweeps them away like stubble.
Wem wollt ihr denn mich nachbilden, dem ich gleich sei? spricht der Heilige.
“To whom will you liken Me, or who is My equal?” asks the Holy One.
Hebet eure Augen in die Höhe und sehet! Wer hat solche Dinge geschaffen und führt ihr Heer bei der Zahl heraus? Er ruft sie alle mit Namen; sein Vermögen und seine Kraft ist so groß, dass es nicht an einem fehlen kann.
Lift up your eyes on high: Who created all these? He leads forth the starry host by number; He calls each one by name. Because of His great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.
Warum sprichst du denn, Jakob, und du, Israel, sagst: Mein Weg ist dem HErrn verborgen, und mein Recht geht vor meinem Gott vorüber?
Why do you say, O Jacob, and why do you assert, O Israel, “My way is hidden from the LORD, and my claim is ignored by my God”?
Weißt du nicht? hast du nicht gehört? Der HErr, der ewige Gott, der die Enden der Erde geschaffen hat, wird nicht müde noch matt; sein Verstand ist unausforschlich.
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary; His understanding is beyond searching out.
Er gibt den Müden Kraft, und Stärke genug dem Unvermögenden.
He gives power to the faint and increases the strength of the weak.
Die Knaben werden müde und matt, und die Jünglinge fallen;
Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall.
aber die auf den HErrn harren, kriegen neue Kraft, dass sie auffahren mit Flügeln wie Adler, dass sie laufen und nicht matt werden, dass sie wandeln und nicht müde werden.
But those who wait upon the LORD will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.
