Ἠσαὺ δὲ ἔλαβεν γυναῖκας ἑαυτῷ ἀπὸ τῶν θυγατέρων τῶν Χαναναίων· τὴν Ἄδα, θυγατέρα Ἐλὼμ τοῦ Χετταίου, καὶ τὴν Ὀλιβεμά, θυγατέρα Ἀνὰ τοῦ υἱοῦ Σεβεγὼν τοῦ Εὑαίου,
Esau took his wives from the daughters of Canaan: Adah daughter of Elon the Hittite, Oholibamah daughter of Anah and granddaughter of Zibeon the Hivite,
καὶ τὴν Βασεμμάθ, θυγατέρα Ἰσμαήλ, ἀδελφὴν Ναβαιώθ.
and Basemath daughter of Ishmael and sister of Nebaioth.
ἔτεκεν δὲ Ἄδα τῷ Ἠσαὺ τὸν Ἐλιφάς, καὶ Βασεμμὰθ ἔτεκεν τὸν Ῥαγουήλ,
And Adah bore Eliphaz to Esau, Basemath gave birth to Reuel,
καὶ Ὀλιβεμὰ ἔτεκεν τὸν Ἰεοὺς καὶ τὸν Ἰεγλὸμ τὸν Τόρε· οὗτοι υἱοὶ Ἠσαῦ, οἳ ἐγένοντο αὐτῷ ἐν γῆ̣ Χανάαν.
and Oholibamah gave birth to Jeush, Jalam, and Korah. These were the sons of Esau, who were born to him in the land of Canaan.
ἔλαβεν δὲ Ἠσαὺ τὰς γυναῖκας αὐτοῦ καὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς καὶ τὰς θυγατέρας καὶ πάντα τὰ σώματα τοῦ οἴκου αὐτοῦ, καὶ πάντα τὰ ὑπάρχοντα καὶ τὰ κτήνη, καὶ πάντα ὅσα ἐκτήσατο καὶ ὅσα περιεποιήσατο ἐν γῇ Χανάαν· καὶ ἐπορεύθη ἐκ γῆς Χανάαν ἀπὸ προσώπου Ἰακὼβ τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ αὐτοῦ. ἦν γὰρ αὐτῶν τὰ ὑπάρχοντα πολλὰ τοῦ οἰκεῖν ἅμα, καὶ
Later, Esau took his wives and sons and daughters and all the people of his household, along with his livestock, all his other animals, and all the property he had acquired in Canaan, and he moved to a land far away from his brother Jacob.
καὶ οὐκ ἐδύνατο ἡ γῆ τῆς παροικήσεως αὐτῶν φέρειν αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ τοῦ πλήθοῦς τῶν ὑπαρχόντων αὐτῶν.
For their possessions were too great for them to dwell together; the land where they stayed could not support them because of their livestock.
ᾤκησεν δὲ Ἠσαὺ ἐν τῷ ὄρει Σηείρ· Ἠσαὺ αὐτός ἐστιν Ἐδώμ.
So Esau (that is, Edom) settled in the area of Mount Seir.
Αὗται δὲ αἱ γενέσεις Ἠσαὺ πατρὸς ἐν τῷ ὄρει Σηείρ.
This is the account of Esau, the father of the Edomites, in the area of Mount Seir.
καὶ ταῦτα τὰ ὀνόματα τῶν υἱῶν Ἠσαύ· Ἐλιφάς, υἱὸς Ἄδα γυναικὸς Ἠσαύ, καὶ Ῥαγουήλ, υἱὸς Βασεμμὰθ γυναικὸς Ἠσαύ.
These are the names of Esau’s sons: Eliphaz son of Esau’s wife Adah, and Reuel son of Esau’s wife Basemath.
ἐγένοντο δὲ οἱ υἱοὶ Ἐλιφάς· μάν, Θαιμάν, Ὠμάν, Γοθὸμ καὶ
The sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam, and Kenaz.
Θαμνὰ δὲ ἦν παλλακὴ πσλλσκὴ τοῦ υἱοῦ Ἠδσύ, καὶ ἔτεκεν τῷ Ἐλιφὰς τὸν Ἀμαλήκ. οὗτοι οἱ υἱοὶ Ἀδὰ γυναικὸς Ησαύ.
Additionally, Timna, a concubine of Esau’s son Eliphaz, gave birth to Amalek. These are the grandsons of Esau’s wife Adah.
οὖτοι δὲ υἱοὶ Ῥαγουήλ· Νάχομ, Ζάρε, Σομὲ καὶ Μοζέ. ἦσαν υἱοὶ Μασεμμὰθ γυναικὸς Ἠσαύ.
These are the sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah. They are the grandsons of Esau’s wife Basemath.
οὖτοι δὲ υἱοὶ Ἐλιβέμας τρὸς Ἀνὰ τοῦ υἱοῦ Σεβεγώβν, γυναικὸς Ἠσαύ. ἔτεκεν δὲ τῷ τῷ Ἠσαὺ τὸν Ἰεὺς καὶ τὸν Ιεγλὸμ καὶ τὸν κόρε.
These are the sons of Esau’s wife Oholibamah (daughter of Anah and granddaughter of Zibeon) whom she bore to Esau: Jeush, Jalam, and Korah.
οὖτοι οἱ ἡγεμόνες υἱοῦ υἱοὶ Ἐλιφὰς πρωτοτόκου Ἠσαύ. ἡγεμὼν ἡγεμὼν ἡγεμὼν ’ μῶν Σωφάρ, ἡγεμὼν Κενέζ,
These are the chiefs among the sons of Esau. The sons of Eliphaz the firstborn of Esau: Chiefs Teman, Omar, Zepho, Kenaz,
ἡγεμὼν Τόρε, Ἀμαλήκ· οὗτοι ἡγεμόνες Ἐλιφὰς ἐν γῇ Ἰδουμαίᾳ, οὗτοι υἱοὶ Ἄδας.
Korah (note: Hebrew; SP (also in verse 11 and 1 Chronicles 1:36) does not include Korah.), Gatam, and Amalek. They are the chiefs of Eliphaz in the land of Edom, and they are the grandsons of Adah.
καὶ οὗτοι υἱοὶ Ῥαγουὴλ υἱοῦ Ἠσαύ. ἡγεμὼν Νάχοθ, ἡγεμὼν ἡγεμὼν Μοζέ, ἡγεμὼν Σομέ. οὗτοι ἡγεμόνες Ῥαγουὴλ ἐν γῇ Ἐδώμ, οὗτοι υἱοὶ Μασεμμὰθ γυναικὸς Ἠσαὐ.
These are the sons of Esau’s son Reuel: Chiefs Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah. They are the chiefs descended from Reuel in the land of Edom, and they are the grandsons of Esau’s wife Basemath.

These are the sons of Esau’s wife Oholibamah: Chiefs Jeush, Jalam, and Korah. They are the chiefs descended from Esau’s wife Oholibamah, the daughter of Anah.

All these are the sons of Esau (that is, Edom), and they were their chiefs.

These are the sons of Seir the Horite, who were living in the land: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,
καὶ Δήσων καὶ Σάαρ καὶ εισών. οὗτοι οἱ ἡγεμόνες τοῦ τοῦ υἱοῦ Σηεὶρ ἐν τῇ γῆ Ἐδώμ.
Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan. They are the chiefs of the Horites, the descendants of Seir in the land of Edom.
ἐγένοντο δὲ υἱοὶ Λωτὰν Χορρεὶ Αἱμάν· ἀδελφὴ δὲ Λωτὰν θαμνά.
The sons of Lotan were Hori and Hemam (note: Hemam is a variant of Homam; see 1 Chronicles 1:39.). Timna was Lotan’s sister.
οὗτοι δὲ υἱοὶ Σωβάλ· Γωλὼν ΜαννάΧαθ καὶ Γαιβήλ, Σὼφ καὶ Ωμάν.
These are the sons of Shobal: Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho, and Onam.
καὶ οὗτοι υἱοὶ Ἀιὲ καὶ Ωνάν. οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ Ωνᾶς ὃς εὗρεν τὸν Ἰαμεὶν ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ, ὃτε ἔνεμεν τὰ ὑποζύγια Σεβεγὼν τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ.
These are the sons of Zibeon: Aiah and Anah. (This is the Anah who found the hot springs in the wilderness as he was pasturing the donkeys of his father Zibeon.)
οὗτοι δὲ Ἀνά· Δήσων καὶ ’ολιβεμὰ θυγάτηρ Ἀνά.
These are the children of Anah: Dishon and Oholibamah daughter of Anah.
οὗτοι ’δε υἱοὶ Ἁμαδὰ καὶ ἐσβὰν καὶ Ἰεθρὰν καὶ Χαρράν.
These are the sons of Dishon (note: Hebrew Dishan, a variant of Dishon): Hemdan, Eshban, Ithran, and Cheran.
οὗτοι δὲ υἱοὶ Βαλαὰν καὶ Ζουκὰμ καὶ Ἰωυκὰμ καὶ Οὐκάν.
These are the sons of Ezer: Bilhan, Zaavan, and Akan.
οὗτοι ὕε ἡγεμόνες Χορρεί. ἡγεμὼν Λωτάν, ἡγεμὼν Σωβάλ, ἡγεμὼν Σεβεγών, ἡγεμὼν Ἀνά,
These are the chiefs of the Horites: Chiefs Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,
ἡγεμὼν Δήσων, ἡγεμὼν Σόαρ, ἡγεμὼν γεισῶν· οὗτοι ἡγεμόνες Χορρεὶ ἐν ταῖς ἡγεμονίαις αὐτῶν ἐν γῇ Ἐδώμ.
Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan. They are the chiefs of the Horites, according to their divisions in the land of Seir.
Καὶ οὗτοι οἱ βασιλεῖς οἱ βασιλεύσαντες ἐν Ἐδὼμ πρὸ τοῦ βασιλεῦσαι βασιλέα ἐν Ἰερουσαλήμ.
These are the kings who reigned in the land of Edom before any king reigned over the Israelites:
καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν Ἐδὼμ Βὰλακ υἱὸς τοῦ Βεὼρ, καὶ ὄνομα τῆ πόλει αὐτοῦ Δεννάβα.
Bela son of Beor reigned in Edom; the name of his city was Dinhabah.
ἀπέθανεν δὲ Βαλὰκ, καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἀντ’ αὐτοῦ Ἰωβὰδ υἱὸς Σάρα ἐκ Βοσόρρας
When Bela died, Jobab son of Zerah from Bozrah reigned in his place.
απέθανεν δε Ἰωβάβ, καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἀντ’ αὐτοῦ Ἁσὸμ ἐκ γῆς Θεμανῶν.
When Jobab died, Husham from the land of the Temanites reigned in his place.
ἀπέθανεν δὲ Ἀσόμ, καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἀντ’ αὐτοῦ Ἁδὰδ υἱὸς Βαράδ, ὁ ἐκκόψας Μαδιάμ ἐν τῷ πεδίῳ Μαωάβ. καὶ ὄνομα τῇ πόλει αὐτοῦ Γεθθόιμ.
When Husham died, Hadad son of Bedad, who defeated Midian in the country of Moab, reigned in his place. And the name of his city was Avith.
ἀπέθανεν δὲ Ἁδάδ, καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἀντ’ αὖτοῦ Σαλαμὰ ἐκ Μασέκκασ.
When Hadad died, Samlah from Masrekah reigned in his place.
ἀπέθανεν δὲ Σαλαμά, καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἀντ’ αὐτοῦ Σαοὺλ ἐκ Ῥοωβὼθ τῆς παρὰ ποταμόν.
When Samlah died, Shaul from Rehoboth on the Euphrates (note: Hebrew the River) reigned in his place.
ἀπέθανεν δὲ Σαούλ, καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἀντ’ αὐτοῦ Βαλαεννών υἱὸς Ἀχοβὠρ.
When Shaul died, Baal-hanan son of Achbor reigned in his place.
ἀπέθανεν δέ Βαλαεννὼν υἱὸς Ἀχοβώρ, καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἀντ’ αὐτοῦ Ἁρὰθ υἱὸς Βαράθ. καὶ ὄνομα τῇ πόλει αὐτοῦ Φόγωρ. ὄνομα δὲ τῇ γυναικὶ αὐτοῦ Μετεβεήλ, θυγάτηρ Ματραεὶθ υἱοῦ Μεζοόβ.
When Baal-hanan son of Achbor died, Hadad (note: Some MT manuscripts, SP, and Syriac (see also 1 Chronicles 1:50); other MT manuscripts Hadar) reigned in his place. His city was named Pau, and his wife’s name was Mehetabel daughter of Matred, the daughter of Me-zahab.
ταῦτα τἀ ὀνόματα τῶν ἡγεμόνων Ἠσαὺ ἐν ταῖς φυλαῖς αὐτῶν κατὰ τόπον αὐτῶν, ἐν ταῖς χώραις αὐτῶν καὶ ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν αὐτῶν· ἡγεμὼν Θαμνᾶ, ἠμεμὼν Γωλά, ἡγεμὼν Ἰεβέρ,
These are the names of Esau’s chiefs, according to their families and regions, by their names: Chiefs Timna, Alvah, Jetheth,
ἡγεμὼν Κενέζ, ἡγεμὼν Θαιμάν, ἡγεμὼν Μαζάρ, ήλ, ἡγεμὼν ΖαΦωεί. οὗτοι ἡγεμόνες Ἐδὼμ ἐν ταῖς κατῳκοδομημέναις ἐν τῇ γῇ τῆς κτήσεως αὐτῶν. οὗτος Ἠσαὺ πατὴρ ’ δὲ Ἰακὼβ ἐν τῇ γῇ οὗς κτήσεως αὐτῶν. οῦτος Ἠσαὺ πατὴρ Ἐδώμ.
